Who thinks we need more care for people that are suffering from mental health I think itโ€™s inexcusable the amount of people that find there selfs that lost and alone that the only way is out horrific we need more people out there to help and need to make it more aware

I thought i was you but maybe i am Dirk Bogarde - sorry i suffer from Schizophrenia lol

Just a little joke to lighten the mood- have you made that beef chinese egg rice recipe i gave you yet?

Or as i surmise you just popped another Hot Dog Stuffed crust iceland pizza in the microwave to ease the pain lol

Well i cannot blame you they are delishus - just a pity they dont do one in ham and pineapple eh

You could always improvise - ham and pinapple stuffed crust hot dog pizza coming right up - antidote for depression for sure - well at least for the 5 mins it takes for it to go down the cakehole!

Crisps and fizzy drinks were made for depression i reckon - i eat bags and bags of em lol

Definitely should be more support. Mental health teams have a wait time of 6 months at a minimum, that is too long for people to get initial help, so people end up calling ambulance and police services out of desperation, they then get referred and so begins the cycle. I am a mental health first aider and a trained counsellor and recently contacted mental health charities in my area asking to volunteer, out of all of them I had only 2 replies and they said they weren't taking on volunteers! How is that right under any circumstance. Even though mental health has come to the forefront of conversations recently and people are more inclined to talk about their mental health, there is still a stigma and people are afraid of what the other person will say if they reply 'actually I'm not that great'. It's OK to not be OK. We need to shout it from the rooftops that it's good to talk, just a smile to a stranger when out can make a world of difference. Let's start talking about mental wellness and crush the taboos once and for all

Absolutely should be more. I'm on a waiting list for CBT and in my city it's a 9 month wait. I'm shocked that you had that no one wanted a volunteer. I would've thought charities would be desperate for it.

KirstyWhit29673 it's a vicious circle, they want people registered with BCAS but you need experience but nobody will let you get that experience without the register. I'm going to set up my own wellbeing class which will have holistic healing methods plus counselling and that way I can get round the bureaucracy

Dilligaf Funnily enough I'm looking into something similar. I'm a coach and looking into that helping others but also some alternative and holistic therapies too as I'm qualified in crystal therapy. I'm sorry you're not getting the experience. It sounds a nightmare and we do need more people to offer support

KirstyWhit29673 I do crystal healing too, EFT and reiki amongst other things. Worked with crystals all my life and always been a natural healer, its only the past year that I have realised I have to use it to help others.

There's so many nowadays that say "I'm depressed" that it just downplays those who actually are. And no, it's not "fake news."

Haha the rock is back thats more like it!

You can change the avatar and the name but the character is instantly recogniseable dude.

You can fool some of the people....

Truth hurts but yeah so many people use it as an excuse and want help without actually trying to help themselves.

I have been there but did it all myself no psychiatrists or doctors or so called therapists - its called self reliance something that existed in the 50's 60's but people just want it all on a plate and make no effort but apart from that i think the environmental poisons in the air have a lot to do with - Have I already mentioned Benzene?

Absolutely. I know from experience of a family member that doctors will just throw pills at extremely vulnerable people. Mental health is a dangerous and debilitating illness.

I agree well after 4 years going back and forth with a child they say she has anixity and low self esteem at the age of 10 we told nothing can be done just deal with it starting high school next year but this family is not backing down we will go private and sue the people

I agree. My friend was diagnosed depressed but not depressed enough to get help with counselling and she deeply needed it. Even one o line forum said she wasn't "depressed" enough. Sad really

There isn't enough support. I'm not suicidal but I am so low in myself and this week when I saw the Dr he asked when I'm coming off my antidepressants. 4 weeks ago he upped them and told me not to feel stupid that sometimes we need help.

Makes you feel even more stressed knowing that they arnt listening.

I'm here for anyone struggling. It's such a lonely place and you have to take each day as it comes xx

Really sorry to hear you are going through this, has the doctor offered anything other than medication to help you out? Tablets aren't the answer or the cure to everything unfortunately. If you need to talk, we are all here for you

Tiredmom it's disgusting having to wait for what could potentially be a life saving issue. I'm stuck, although I'm a trained counsellor I don't work through anyone so can't register on BCAS and if I'm not registered with them I can't volunteer anywhere. So many restrictions to what should be essential treatment

It is discussing on how they just through medication at people that suffer from this my mum started having depression about 8 years ago and at the start she would talk about and was much better than she is now she is now on about 8 different tablets a day and just closes her self off from everyone has no help whatsoever if they looked at the cost of this medication and put it into care for this sort of thing there would be a much better outcome

It's disgusting, not being nasty but there's help for people with cancer and a lot make a full recovery, thank god. But many people end up committing suicide because of the lack of mental health support.

I watched this documentary this morning, I think it was well made and gave a glimpse into both the patients and health care professionals lives. It's very sad there's not more help for people struggling out there.

Hey everyone! I hope everyone is ok. Iโ€™m someone who has suffered from mental health since a very young age. Iโ€™ve had good times and Iโ€™ve had bad times like everyone. Iโ€™ve had a child and life was turning to a good direction. My son came very early into the world and him being my 1st I was so worried but he pulled through! Heโ€™s turning 2 and heโ€™s just amazing! Iโ€™m still suffering from bad depression but he doctors donโ€™t seem to want to listen as I have a child they think that everything is now ok. Well itโ€™s not I feel so down everyday I donโ€™t have anyone for me to turn to. I just feel no one is listening to people that are suffering why canโ€™t there be more help? Why do young parents get treated like s*** when they are saying that they need help? I just need someone to listen to me!

Stop taking pills then and try fixing yourself with natural means!

I tried Citalopram just once and it put me off taking any pills for the rest of my life.

Hard graft, perseverance and keeping your mind and spirit busy and positive works - took me a year but i did it without any help at all!

Going to the gym once a day will kill depression and other problems that is fact!

Flood your body with adrenalin and feel good chemicals naturally dont whine about poor me and need help from someone else - YOU CAN DO IT YOURSELF!

Pills and panacea of so called mental help are not a solution!

More psychiatrists kill themselves and have mental problems than anyone else so why would you go to one?

Popping more pills makes you even more ill fact!

If you know anything about drugs at all you will know they may give you x amount of joy but in return they take joy x 2 FROM you - and for all these things I speak from experience before i get criticised for speaking the truth!

I agree with this. Doc put me on Prozac, within 3 weeks I was worse than ever took 2 months to come off them, he then tried Citalopram which was just as bad. Put me on waiting list for counselling =19 months! At this point I decided I had to help myself - keep busy - be useful, so I threw myself into helping at school, starting a toddler group (my youngest was only 9 months) and fundraising for community. I felt useful, I was useful, I and only I pulled myself up, it was hard but I did it. I never was offered an appointment with a counsellor.

lilyflower Yes I only took one Citalopram and woke up the next morning and felt really weird it was like having taken LSD not a very pleasant experience first thing in the morning - best is natural as I said Lily and the GYM or working out at home flood that body with those good hormones and keep the brain firing by playing computer games there is so much you can do even in this isolation I just setup my new windowsill herb garden this morning - keep yourself busy it sitting around in front of the tv getting depressed and not keeping active that either brings on or makes depression worse - people are actually to blame this never was as big during the war year or until 1960 until people started becoming lazy and things became easier with the technology , car and transport revolution - we are our own worst enemies!

I know this is controversial and i dont smoke it anymore after smoking it for 20+ years but cannabis is a much better replacement for ALL of these artificial drugs - Cannabis is natural , unprocessed and as we used to say "GOD DOESNT MAKE MISTAKES"!
