Microscopic mites that live on our faces could disappear

In the News

We all worry about spiders and the like visiting us while we are asleep, but these microscopic worms are actually living on our faces from birth and apparently we need them as they can prevent acne , keeping our skin in good condition as they clean our pores by eating the secretions

They also mate and lay eggs on your face , i can feel an itch coming on

I wonder if they survive nightly face treatments before bed M , maybe the treatments are killing them and people are losing the benefits the mites give ?

All sorts of weird creatures in the microscopic world, this one has a bit of a Charles Laughton look about it.

I recall noticing that I had worm-shaped ‘floaters’ on my eyes from a young age…it wasn’t until I went to see an optometrist that I put a name to them
