Microwave on Fire

Ask a Question

I dont know why microwave is throwing fire from sides every time I try to use it,

It also produces very scary voices.

Is it a permanent fault or I can get it fixed?

I don't understand why in this day and age, microwaves are still pretty expensive for what they are. Though if you look around, you can get some more reasonably priced ones.

After having a look around, the cheapest one I could find is this...

Put it in the bin and go on Gumtree ....Facebook marketplace etc and get a second hand one.

Or place an ad yourself..asking for a cheap one.

Best of luck.

Freecycle or gumtree - FREE is best!

But beware of people getting rid of duff stuff and using you to transport it away for free!

Its a thing!

It is the Magnetron - very dangerous - switch it off.

Yes fixable you need to buy a new magnetron and have it fitted - i had a new one for sale on ebay for Β£40 but in reality if you cant fit it yourself and nor should you as the capacitor in the microwave could kill you unless you discharge it , it will be cheaper to buy a new microwave!

I know how you feel my Microwave is my grandpas its a Toshiba ER-672ET and its over 50 years old

Modern technology eh doesnt even last 5 years!

Just look at that manual heat knob and nondigital display - Beautiful!

Even has the menus for everything you can cook in it with times and settings - Pure dead MAGIC!

WindowShopper 2 years is pretty poor it should have lasted at least 5 years - you must have been using it every day for ages - little tip - dont keep it on high for too long it destroys the magnetron but the biggest killer of microwaves is slamming the door - it destroys the interlock on the door handle and ends up with the microwave going phutt - pull handle, close door softly, release lock.

Most electronics fails due to abuse by the users - no one reads the manual these days!

I just repaired another LCD tv - these were designed to fail due to poor backlight design from the very beginning - BUILT IN OBSOLESCENCE IS REAL it is not just made up - I am an electronics engineer and the stuff they make these days is a disgrace!

Pretty scary isn't it? Perhaps microwaves are eventually going to take over the world and kill us all. 😲

RegularComper90 No i think the coronavirus has that one all sealed up!

My Zombie Apocalypse prognostications are not looking that far fetched now!

Just look up exponential contamination.

The figures have gone from 10 infect to 300 to 17,000 in a week - that is actually quite disturbingand follows the logarithmic infection rate for a global ending - the end is truly nigh this time!

πŸ˜‹

Nevertheless I have stoicked up on food, have my tin foil hat on, Lucille is at the ready for any scavengers who dare to darken my door and i have my sh****g pants on!

RegularComper90 I will do you my speshal Thai Coconut and Kaffir Lime leave extra hot curry with extra Galangal and fresh chesnuts - i hope you like it hot...

I grow my own chillis - got some californian yellows from last year some Hungarian black chillis and some bumripper Scotch bonnets on my windowsill as we speak - your choice - bumripper or not to bumrip?

Image

I make my coconut milk myself by crushing and grinding real coconuts none of this Jamie Oliver canned coconut milk nonsense hehe

Just a word to the wise -> bring your steel underpants you will need them after my speshal Thai rocket curry!

😜

Its acutally quite funny my girlfriend complained that i never cooked for her so i took up cookery courses and ten years later all she eats is ready meals now!

Mind she is a veggie they are so hard to please - i made her a lovely sweet lentil casserole the other night and she preferred to eat a bowl of chips and some avocado - sad very sad when you make all the effort and get nowt back!

I am the perfect man (almost) but nobody wants me boohoo
