Milk Being Dumped

In the News

can’t believe that much milk is being poured down the drains! But again, I’m not sure the industry ought to get bailed out - if anything, it shows that we ought to consider alternatives to fresh dairy

I suppose restaurants, cafes, pubs, schools etc that were buying and using milk in bulk no longer require it as they are closed leaving a massive surplus, not sure what else the farmers could do with it, as storing or processing large quantities is going to be costly anyway. Regards of bailing them out I'm just not sure where all this money that the government is handing out is coming from, and how long they can keep offering such handouts. I think the whole situation has been handled badly by this government , and we will suffer the consequences for years to come,

Mango4 Let's not put all the blame on the government. Some of it has to be awarded to people - stupid, selfish people.

Yes I‘m also dubious by all the money that seems to be plucked out of a magic hat to pay for everything...it’s definitely not money that we had previously. Things will be tough for a long, long while

Give it to the supermarkets at a discounted rate, let them sell it cheaply. It's better than throwing away.

Dennab Can't they give it to the cheese people?

I like a bit of cheese and they use a lot of milk.

And the butter makers.

I like a bit of butter, especially the proper Welsh stuff that has more salt in it. It's lovely on a crumpet.
