Milkmen Services

do you still utilise the services of the traditional milkman? now that I think about it, I don't recall the last time I saw a milk float in my area
do they still exist?
Haven't seen these in like 50 years lol, Do they even exist in urban areas? Don't see the point unless you can't go out and are elderly, but then again there are grocery delivery services nowadays.
Home milk delivery from local dairies and creameries was a mainstay for many families in the 1950s and '60s. But as it became easier and cheaper to buy milk at the grocery store, and as processes were developed to extend milk's shelf life, the milkman began to fade into the past.
I think the last time I saw one on the streets of London was at least a couple of years ago, and they have since vanished. I can understand why the service would die out, as sometimes the milkman will leave milk out for people who were not even home, mainly as they had gone away for the week, and then I guess the milk would spoil. I would say the milk they delivered tasted better, but that is based on my childhood memories, so that might not be reliable! lol
I remember the milkmen from a couple of years ago in UK which they'd come by really early in the morning, haven't seen many since then. "Breadmen" are still very useful in small villages where its residents are mostly senior citizens, this is mostly in Iberian countries.
