Mixed up Cities (An Anagram Game) Starts at 9.00pm Wednesday.
Ask a Question
To make this fair for all contestants the game will start at 9.00 pm Wednesday 20th March.
An explanation: At 9:00 pm (Wed 20th March) a numbered list of anagrams of English cities will appear as the first comment on this Topic.
When you have unscrambled one enter the city with its number as a comment. (Don't wait until you've found another someone might pip you to the post - and it's the FIRST correct answer that gets the points).
I will do my best to mark any correctly answered anagrams by putting two smileys after them . Followed by any lull with the name of the FIRST solver and the answer. I might also, if there's any lull, give clues to one of the answers.
Some DON'Ts: Don't give any answer by replying to another comment or editing a previous answer (they won't count). And unless you want to help your opponents DON'T give the answer to a clue - just comment with the answer not forgetting the number. (Example: 13. Leeds)
Anyone confused can see the way last nights game went. https://www.latestdeals.co.uk/chat/mixed-singers-an-anagram-game
The winner will be the person who has entered a correct answer FIRST - the most times.
You might need a pen and paper - and it might be handy to check a list of English cities online. (you still have to unscramble the anagrams so it's not cheating).
MIXED UP ENGLISH CITIES (answer in any order - stating number and City) in comments only.
1. Mr Cod Flesh Chelmsford Answered by Philkinellman

So it was a Dead Heat 4 each to Philkinellman and Jamala - and the other two were answered by Saintsmoney
Means they've already been answered. First to answer gets the points. Most FIRSTS wins.
Starting at 9:00pm
Are you going to give out prizes too? Hehe I'm looking forward to this. But greys anatomy starts at 9 so I'll have to see if I can jump in during breaks.
No Prizes unfortunately but the satisfaction of playing and hopefully winning should be enough - after all MONEY has ruined football. I waited until after Corrie so the addicts weren't deprived. (I can watch on catch up )
Well that was fast and furious - I haven't counted properly yet but think Phil is the winner - anyone disputing that please let me know. I'm correcting myself it was a dead heat 4 each to Philkinnellman and Jamala.
saintsmoney Last Night I had to wait for over an hour before anyone responded - tonight I couldn't keep up Congratulations you came third after Phil and Jamala who drew for first place. (with four each) I'm wondering if anyone else was playing,
So.. I came last
In my defence I was late to the game by 7 mins!
I think you have a winning recipe by having a start time in place. Now all you need, if you don't mind me saying, is something that will take abit longer. Whether that means increasing the difficulty or having more questions I'm not sure.
It was well thought out and well executed - and great fun!
Cheers davidstockport
You weren't LAST you were THIRD... LD has more than three members. This was actually harder than last nights - I tried to get it that it was a RACE. No doubt you'd have won if you had not been late, you were pipped at the post at least once.
I hope the "mechanics" of how to time the start of a game come in useful to you.
Next I post will have to be more leisurely - I'm knackered.
davidstockport Yes you should get some deserved rest but can I just ask, did you create all the anagrams yourself? Some of them are hilarious.. like uncleanest wet pony, probe her gout
Genius level stuff
saintsmoney I got a little help from Internet Anagram Server but had to decide which cities to choose and modify. I wasn't sure whether "uncleanest wet pony" or "Lettuces a penny now" was best for Newcastle upon Tyne. Your name becomes Nosy Inmates and many other anagrams https://new.wordsmith.org/anagram/anagram.cgi?anagram=saintsmoney&language=english&t=500&d=&include=&exclude=&n=&m=&a=n&l=n&q=n&k=1&source=adv
