Another Moan !

I'm moaning about people reporting one of my comp posts as expired when it clearly hasn't, and wondering if they think they'll still get the points! If anyone else wants a moan, feel free
I don't understand this. If a closing date says a certain date, checked by poster, surely there could be a method whereby it cannot be expired. If it is a genuine error and is really expired a comment underneath should be sufficient.
Lynibis I had this happen to me recently - the competition page was very clear with a closing date. Somebody reported it as expired and when I checked they were correct. It must have been someone trying to enter it to realise it was finished. Annoying. CherylParry Whoever it was will have the points taken away if they were wrong.
Cheryl, just seen your last comment on the comp and I think I can guess who expired it! I think some people just report if they can't find the comp.
It is very annoying, but all of the reported posts go into moderation and the mentors then check them out. If they haven't actually expired, then those who reported them don't get the points. Overtime, those who repeatedly and incorrectly report posts as expired lose that ability to report posts.
I would have thought that those culprits understood this. So I don't understand what they get out of doing it.
It’s very annoying and has probably happened to us all at some point. I’ve had stuff reported as expired when it clearly hasn’t !
Does it matter if its report? We dont lose points for having it reported. Maybe it really did expire? I just ignore those reports lol
Can I add another moan to this thread rather than start a new one. I don't expect the culprits will read this but I would so much appreciate it if people put comps under the correct heading i.e. Fb, gleam, email, website etc. So many put email as entry method just because the web entry asks for your email address, this is especially true with all the winnit type comps which are website entry. Gleam is often listed as website. I filter mine as I do not have any social media so it is a bit irritating when ones I cannot enter keep appearing. Sorry, but it had to be said lol.
angemski hahahaha no worries.
The entry method is exactly for people who want to filter the competitions. In the case of Lynibis, she does not participate in competitions via social network. The correct use of this field, facilitates for users who do not have social network, or simply prefer not to participate in this type of competition.
Cheers
Something I do find a bit irritating is when some people share comps but without also sharing answers to questions. I think that if you are going to share a comp then you may as well also share the answers.
I wonder if those who do this realise that someone in the comment section is going to reveal the answer and then get extra points as a result of getting likes.
RegularComper90 share the love lol. I keep forgetting but I do put the answer probably 7/10. If it is difficult and hard to find I sometimes leave it but also I am watching the clock as my job is in and out all day and sometimes I just don't have time.
Lynibis That's ok. We all make mistakes at times.
But some people never bother to share the answer at all.

I have had people expire things that have not expired. I just go back and unexpire them, but it is so annoying!
yeah is annoying, had a few of mine reported, clearly the reporter did not read the description correctly. Example a competition, yo state in bold, select competition from drop down box, they dont, so then report as experired
