Modern Christmas Music

I have to admit I am not into the old crooner type music, Bing Crosby, Sinatra etc. But then again I get sick of the slade, Mariah Carey stuff too. Off subject but there is a trailer on tv for a new drama called 'dark heart', they keep playing 'my way' to accompany it and it really puts me off lol

There isn't much in the way of modern Christmas music. In previous decades musicians cashed in but then along came Pop Idol etc which pretty much guaranteed a Christmas no 1 so people tended not to bother. Me, I love most of it although can't bear Mariah. I am frequently found walking around the supermarket unaware I am quietly singing along and smiling when I meet a like minded soul!!

I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas music. I'm really not looking forward to hearing Slade's Merry Xmas Everybody over and over again. I like Fairytale of New York by Pogues and Kirsty MacColl, but that isn't exactly new either.

I tend to turn the radio station over when Christmas songs come on! I don't really like them. I will have them playing on Christmas day, other than that, I can't stand them.
