Modern Teens Trying to Use a Rotary Phone
Other
it is definitely easier to make calls these days
Hilarious - takes me back to the days when the phone was in the hall which was always freezing cold and no chair so calls were kept to a minimum!
Lol I know, right I’m also guessing they’re not entirely sure how to use the phones in a phone box, especially if the6 have to fumble for change or get a phone card to use it
Thought otherwise. Stopped watching it because it was so awkward that the chick was so excited to use the telephone and he didn't even care much either.
Some were praising Gen Z to be way better than Gen M, but I don't really see that. On HUKD, a user called Gen Z to be "iGeneration". I'd friggin' hate that term (found it a tad insulting, tbh), it makes it seem an entire generation are a bunch of brainless, moronic, clueless sheep who can't do anything without an iPhone/iPad.
AgnesFaludi Google can't always come to the rescue and if they don't know, they don't know. No harm not knowing, just means something new to learn.
AgnesFaludi lol Google indeed has the idiots guide to everything, even I’ve used it for handy tips at times
hspexy yeah, they have the answer to everything, but you need to know what information is good and what info is fake and they should teach that to modern kids.
AgnesFaludi indeed. It’s always good to retain some kind of common sense. When I read about people who follow their sat navs into ditches, it beggars belief (I’m sure the skill of map reading is dying too)
They probably don't know what's a Diskette either, Cassettes, HD-DVDs, Laser Discs, Betamax or CRT TVs.. or how to use them. lol
Imagine if a kid these days was watching a B/W TV:
"This TV is in black and white. How do I change it to color?"
Oh dear, the idea that the tv only had a handful of channels, and some actually went blank after 11pm as they did not broadcast beyond a certain time...lol
Lol I’m also loving how all these lovely retro, ‘vintage’ items have made an appearance on this thread, certainly brings back memories
That's so funny , of course I never thought about it but I am sure that my nearly 10 year old would not have a clue what to do with it!
Lol definitely something no modern day kid would have the pleasure of trying out...it will certainly test their patience
Can you imagine them trying to use the TV without a remote control? Boiling a kettle on the hob instead of flicking a switch? Making toast under the grill before toasters and how about having to actually put things in a saucepan on the hob pre microwaves!?
Generation Z should make an effort to be the better generation in general but it's not looking like that.
Same could be said for Gen M, but in regards to Millennials everyone seems to love to criticize them. They're like the punching bag.
Rockman Hope you didn't think I was knocking them. My generation would have struggled without washing machines, central heating etc. Each generation bemoans the one before but I do think we are raising kids today in cotton wool. So many have no discipline, ambition, and are happy for parents to continue looking after them at home and bank rolling them. But I suppose there have always been youngsters like that, although the parents are doing them no favours by mollycoddling them. It is harder now, less jobs etc but that is more of a case for parents to guide them in the right direction.
That’s too much for them to do. I’d like for them to find a place without google maps - give them the traditional A to Z and let them work out the route. Almost sounds like a new reality tv could be born out of this topic
They'd really be stumped with two tin cans connected with a length of string - that's all we had when I was young. It might amaze youngsters to know that with those devices we could speak to each other for up to about twenty yards away - IF WE SHOUTED.
Without the knowledge of future technology - I was like that the first time I saw a computer Loved it when she said how did they do their homework - we 'walked' to the library and 'walked' back with huge hardback books - how stupid is that!
