I would say kitchen ware is always good but ask her what she needs first so she doesn't end up with doubles. Things like towels and bedding are always helpful too.

Someone gave me one of those sturdy plastic baskets in two sections with a handle in the middle ... one side was filled with dusters, washing up cloths, brillo pads etc, the other side screw drivers, few nails and tacks, small hammer and an adjustable spanner. Still have most of the tools 30 years on ... it was a really thoughtful present.

I would be super practical and turn up with toilet roll washing powder ..... the major cleaning stuff and a bottle of something nice and the glasses to drink it from

Usually get flowers, plants or something for the kitchen like glasses.
