Houses are still selling at the moment, but there are a number of different considerations you need to take into account, not just the housing market. It depends really on what you mean by a good time. Do you mean because of the pandemic or to do with house prices or other issues associated with moving or because you want to downsize to have a smaller mortgage?

Why don't you get an estate agent to give you a valuation for your house? Then look at the type of house you would want, then figure out if you can afford that house eg mortgage payments, stamp duty, moving costs, running costs, council tax etc. Whilst it might be a good time for the housing market it might not be for you personally or financially and we can't really advise you on that.

Probably not , the stamp duty holiday which has fuelled a mini boom in house sales ends in April . The housing market may well slow down then so look forward to long chains and all the problems and sales falling through that that brings .
