M&S Opticians - Coming to a Store near You?
News
Ok, so they’re only trying out in 5 stores for now, but really? I can’t imagine this doing very well, especially as the other supermarkets/high street department stores who have tried don’t seem to have flourished. But I guess you never know
Do you get your eyes checked and/or get your glasses at the supermarket/department stores?
The prices I guess will be around the same they're on Specsavers and such.
Hey, ASDA could make the definitive jump and be renamed Walmart so they could get into this, too.
Yes I am surprised Asda didn’t do it in the first place, as Walmart seems to be the bigger brand. Then again, not sure what deal was struck previously - I guess the previous owners still wanted to keep their original identity in the Asda brand
glasses are being produced by the same company that set up Tesco opticians and boots opticians. They will be cheaper than vision express and spec savers by a long way and probably offer free eye tests as they usually do. I personally think it will do really well. But I guess we will have to wait and see.
It is a shame that the company who run the M and S Brand - who also ran the Tesco brand until it's take over last year - have put their own stores into liquidation thus leaving all 4 store's staff without a job with immediate effect!
oh no is that what has happened? the bigger the company, the more likely they will do such things, especially if they have limited liabilities (all they do is just set up shop elsewhere - doesn't see fair at all)
