Had to do a double take when I saw this in the shop...
so do I buy one kitkat for £1.25, or 2 kitkats for £1?
what a dilemma(!) lol
Offers like this are incomprehensible aren't they. One for now and the other for now, sorry, I mean later....
The thing is, I have never seen a 4 finger kit Kat costing £1.25 so the whole thing is a con to start with. Why on earth would any one pay more for one than two, even if you didn't want two you would give the second away.
Why not just price at 50p each.....madness, and it makes me mad when they take consumers for idiots.
LynibisI thought that too then noticed it was for Kit Kat ZEBRA. and found this "A 41.5g bar is priced 85p, but retailers are free to set their own prices".* But this supposed offer is, as you say, taking consumers for idiots (unfortunately some are - you will usually find that small tins of baked beans, where available, usually cost more than large tins, but people still buy them).

davidstockport Yes, it is very frustrating. For example it is cheaper to buy 4 pints of milk rather than 2 pints because even if you waste a little of a four pinter you are still quids in. And 'they' are meant to be trying to stop waste!
Lynibis It goes the other way too, you will find it often costs LESS to buy two of the smaller items than one of the larger ones. Brown sauce is just one of the things this often applies to. (often two of the smaller ones contain more than one larger one too - so you pay less and get more).
The thing is some people will only buy one because they only want One or just cant be bothered to read.
I have actually seen people buy one on offers like this. I guess if your on a diet and only allowed one...
Imnotcheap If you're only allowed one, either find someone else who's only allowed one, and give them one, or find some idiot willing to buy the other one off you for £1.25, you'll find your own was free and also find you've made 25p profit, if you can't find someone to give or sell the other one to, find a bin and throw the other one away, but better still find a store not trying to rip their customers off and buy ONE there.
I thought that a 4 finger kit kat was about 65p - 70p, so either the shop is taking advantage of shoppers or it is a mistake in the P.O.S.
No it's probably not a mistake, I once informed the manager at a Tesco store about a similar thing to this which was costing those who didn't notice £3. He said "I know, you've just got to watch out for things like that in here". That was quite some years ago - I don't know if they still do it... I haven't been in since.
(interesting to know which store this was at hspexy)
davidstockport The P.O.S. will probably be to keep them right with trading standards then, no doubt all the Supermarkets are using some similar tactics.
pato It might be OK with trading standards, but customers who realise how they're trying to be ripped off with such tactics might begin to vote with their feet - I do. and did
I just had a quick look and Tesco is selling them for 60p each, they are also doing the Milk and Plain Chocolate ones, 3 for £1.20
That, if you buy two, is not as good as the rip off deal referred to. It only becomes "questionable" if just one is bought.
