Haven't received this particular call, but personally I always put the phone down on a recorded message , never wait around to find out what it's about . I would advise others to do the same and certainly never respond by press any buttons they ask

I got one recently saying my national insurance number had been used in illegal activities and had to press a button to get more details. I just hung up and told my husband in case he got one. My favourite is the one where there is a warrant out for my arrest.

I've had that one. I think it would be a great April Fool if you had a friend who could take the joke if someone turned up to arrest them. (It's the sort of think my kids would do to each other).

Leannexxx I have no idea, possibly bought them from some company database. Wonder when we will be arrested?

I've had a few automated calls all from different numbers, hang up. There is also automated going around for Amazon Prime.

Yes!!! This one too! My prime is actually due for renewal soon, so made me doubt myself until I realised it was a mobile number!

Avoid it. I’ve Been getting a few. They will write to you if it’s genuine. These scams change daily don’t they. Just keep on your toes. Image

Leannexxx they more than likely don’t use mobile numbers to call. I just let them all go to answer phone if I don’t know the number. As this is a personal phone. They will leave a message if genuine. Then I try looking up the number then it may tell you that the number is a scam. However they will be changing numbers so frequent that if you try checking on that number it may not come up as fraudulent. But then if you think it’s suspicious you can add it to that site for the next person who does a search. ‘Who called my mobile’

I have had loads of these over the past 5 days both to my personal and work phone! Really annoying that they not use mobile numbers, as makes you answer, just in case!

If i get a call from a number i don't recognize i don't answer. If its genuine they will leave a message . I'll always google the number and 9/10 times is a scam number and reported on 'whos called me', ill then block it

These scam calls are a joke, I got one saying I'm under a tax investigation and I need to pay now. I like playing along wasting as much time of theirs as possible in the hope I've saved a victim somewhere

If you ever get an email from 'them' always have a look at the email address you can easily tell its a scam just by the email address.

Hate these things.

We've just got my Dad a 'semi' smartphone for Father's Day and he's just received his first scam text which was supposed to be from Lloyds Bank.

He asked me how they got his number and how they knew he banked with Lloyds, so I had to explain that the scammers send millions of texts out using random number generators and they use all different banks as a heading.

I'm not quite sure whether he understands what I'm saying, and this is with a very clever man in the mid-70s, with his head screwed on, who was head of Biochemistry for 30 years and was responsible for spending hundreds of thousands of pounds on new tech for the lab.

Had both the national insurance and the warrant for arrest calls many times all from different mobile numbers. Never pressed 1 nor do I intend too either. Worst thing about them is they phone when I'm expecting a different call but also when I'm fairly busy so it frustrates me more.
