Mental Health never goes away- support your friends

Previous title National Mental Health Week may be over Mental Health is not.
Lots of people suffer in silence in normal times and during lockdown this is a lot more stressful. Anyone out there struggling, whether it's you or a member of the family? My past experiences are creeping back, and OH is very low but not yet into depression. Lets all give each other virtual support, hugs, flowers, words, not everyone has someone at home or on the phone they can speak to.
Hugs are always good gerrykelly25 chelseaturpin sometimes they can say a lot more than words
I'm worried about my bestie as she suffers with her mental health and she lives alone so I try and cheer her up as much as I can. My husband has suffered with depression on and off for years, luckily he isn't suffering at the moment.
Pleased your husband isn't suffering at the moment. I thought it would be nice to post random hugs for those on LD who may need one but have no access to them and for them to know they are not alone.
I think many people will be experiencing mental health issues for the first time due to being socially isolated and fears about Covid. It is hard staying positive and motivated at present. This is a thoughtful gesture lilyflower x
Another hug for those who want it. Isolation is getting harder, we all need contact with people. My B in L hit the wall and fell of the wagon yesterday major intervention and medication and needed hopefully he won't need to be hospitalised.
I’m sorry to hear that lilyflower. It will be hard for his family as well as himself. Better times are ahead.
gerrykelly25 Thank you. He's staying with his mum now as the meds he gets knock him out for about 4 days, hopefully they will work, we'll know Monday. It always seems to happen at a Holiday time, last time it was Christmas 2017, as OH says 'he's had a good spell'. It used to be a lot worse. It can be frightening seeing someone with schizophrenia 'flip' fortunately OH knows how to deal with him. We'll all get through it.
lilyflower it is a lot of stress for his mum and family. Hope Monday brings good news x
Today is the last day of National Mental Health Week, but why people will think 'it' goes away after a week I have know idea. Hug of the day
National Mental Health Week may be over but for a lot of people Mental Health is not, please remember them.
Update on B in L - he came out of his deep slumber late yesterday and appears to be his usual self the head voices have gone, he sees his CPN again tomorrow
That’s good to hear lilyflower and must be a big relief to the family. I hope he stabilises.
gerrykelly25 Thank you. He'll be ok, it was brought on by stress of interruption to his usual routine and having to stay indoors.
The official National Mental Health week may be over but Mental Health is not, those with problems are in a more difficult place and those who didn't have problems have joined the queue. Please be considerate, it may be you or someone you know in the future.
Note to self:
I don't have to take this day all at once, but rather, one step, one breath, one moment at a time.
I am only one person.
Things will get done when they get done.
Loislane and I like chatting back to you. Thanks for bringing this to the top, perhaps I should post a daily hug along with the smile
Bringing this back to the top thanks to Loislane Mental Health does not go away and no matter how brave we all are and whether we suffer MH or not we all need to 'off-load' to someone at sometime in our lives and sometimes all it takes is a hug or few words or knowing others care

As somone who has battled mental health issues caused by many things in life ( long story) I'm still me though not ashamed and not crazy lol x its tough I can have the most crap days but gain happiness being on here finding freebies joining in comps and finding people who care so I'm so grateful to that its nice not feel so alone and hugs lilyflower you really are a lovely person to know xx
Thank you Loislane It's a pity I live so far UP the rail track. Virtual friends are good. You can feel lonely even when surrounded by real people and you cant' just 'switch them off'.
Great post. I was lucky to have CBT online while in lockdown which was great for my mental health but I do know others who are struggling including my mum. Virtual hugs to you and everyone else on here who needs one.

lilyflower you are bad haha I'm trying be good lose the plus size weight lol x but looks yummy and I loveee a hug xx
Daily Hug or happy picture to lift the spirit. It's good to have a hug and a laugh every day
Completely true! Have friends and family with mental health issues and people still struggle to understand them.
Thank you Loislane I'll need more than one by end of day, could even need a Solicitor!
