I Need some Help on Buying a Kindle

Hi all I would like some help on buying a kindle. I do not have broad ban. My tablet runs on a SIM card. And what I would like to ask can a kindle work on a SIM card has.well. And can I down load books. I go through about 7 to 10 books a month and I thought this would be better for me. Thank you for your help.
