New 50p?

In the News

A new 50p is going to be put into circulation as a result of Brexit. On it is going to say "Peace Prosperity and Friendship with all nations".

There will also be a couple of Paddington Bear 50p as well.

Do like a change in the way pennies look? Did you like it when the £1 changed or not?

I like the different coins i bet the Paddington bear coins will be adorable . with a new coin all together it takes me a while to get used to it as it did with the pound coins and the plastic notes!

There's a better way of showing peace, prosperity and friendship with our neighbours - not leaving the union. The coin is just insulting.

Thank you MeestairChrees for voicing the exact same thing I was thinking and you ACR the money wasted is just getting absolutely ridiculous, worrying times.

I do like a new coin as they are always interesting to find. The new £1 are great and you don't find you keep getting crappy lead fakes in your change as was the case before the new one came out. As for the to be re-dated and release 50p...

The 31st October Brexit coins are now going to be melted down. I wonder how much money was wasted designing, making and recycling these. If anyone is lucky enough to own a sample Brexit 50p coin it will be worth quite a lot of money - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-50215983

I just don't understand why they would have made them without a brexit first actually happening! Get stuff ready, sure, but actually creating the coins? Wait until after it happens (though hopefully that will be never). Waste of money, in multiple ways.

They just keep delaying. I'm in favor of it, but I've kind of lost hope it actually happens. MeestairChrees

It's a pity they put 2019 on them they might have been able to use them next year.

The one pound coin needed to be changed... Because there were a lot of fake around. I kind of like the new design...

From the post I thought there will be a special Brexit coin 😀
