ADMIRAL REWARDS

Anyone else using it yet?

Seems poor remuneration as there are very few shops on it at the mo but could be useful for some of you out there.

TOPCASHBACK is the best imho

QUIDCO comes second!

£5 annual fee lol

"To deliver all the great benefits of Admiral Rewards, we will deduct a £5.00 annual fee from your Rewards Wallet on the anniversary of when you joined. The fee will be deducted from your cash reward savings. If you have less than £5.00 in your Reward Wallet, the amount available will be deducted towards the fee."

Never noticed that lol

Good spot and I usually check all the T&C's too!

I now feel thoroughly ashamed lol

But Topcashback and Quidco do that too for their premium accounts!

Stung me there on that one as well!

A good way to save for your insurance ,assuming they come up with competitive quotes when you need it, If not any reward you've gained could be wiped out. Better off saving the money via Top cashback or Quidco and cashing it in when your insurance is due, you can opt to go with the most competitive company then.

My personal experience with Admiral insurance has been poor also

Really ?

How so?

I just swapped from Churchill who were dreadful and now with Admiral!

Been with Admiral before and they paid out and were rather good.

Phoned em up and told them i had a cheaper quote and they matched it there and then got my insurance down to £170 for the year fully comp!

I think I got home insurance with admiral through topcashback and they never paid the cashback and there was no reason not to or explanation given. For some reason topcashback have removed the amount from my history but will never use admiral again, it was £40. The idea of using an admiral rewards site when I have found them to be a dishonest company that does not honour what they agree to pay out is definitely not going to happen. Awful dishonest company. Also I would point out that if your cashback is only for paying for admiral insurance products then that cashback rate is far less because admiral can give very poor value at times. £100 cashback towards a £200 policy that could have been a £120 policy elsewhere is effectively only £20 cashback in real terms. The way this reward site has been setup is pretty much to exploit people and force them to use their insurance products. The £5 fee on top adds more salt. The whole concept seems typical of this vile exploitative and dishonest company. Even if they beat the cashback rates of sites like Quidco and Topcashback in real terms the value may be far less but knowing Admiral they will probably have worse cashback rates.

BonzoBanana Hmmm sounds like its more TOPCASHBACK - they have a bad reputation for not paying out and its not usually the retailer from what I understand - Martin Lewis mentioned it on his website about Topcashback having bad feedback and not honouring cashbacks!

garygemmell Well Topcashback have in some circumstances paid my cashback despite not being honoured by the retailer but not on this occasion. I'm not saying Topcashback are perfect but there was a lot of back and forth messages between Admiral and Topcashback and they occasionally asked me for further details which I gave them but at the end Admiral still refused to pay and gave me no reason why they didn't. Topcashback apologised but didn't pay out. I think the issue was the home insurance policy was quite low cost because of my circumstances and house and they simply refused because it was unprofitable for them rather than pay out as per the terms of the cashback. That to me is dishonest as they never gave a minimum cost for the buildings and content policy that was eligible for cashback. Considering I've never ever made any claim on my buildings and contents policies I'm sure it would have been profitable in real terms anyway.

garygemmell £40 was the cashback not the actual policy cost although I think the policy was somewhere between £70-90 but can't remember for sure so still relatively cheap.
