New Mobile Phone

Ask a Question

I need to get a new phone after having a hand me down apple iPhone 6s. No sign of another hand me down (from family member). It’s old!! I cannot afford apple and I don’t like idea of refurbished so will have to revert to android. Apps are now out of date unfortunately and battery is really bad. Does anyone have any recommendations? I only want to spend up to £100. I use social media, photos, emails and WhatsApp. I don’t need games and I’m pay as you go on O2. I also want to keep same number and stored photos and messages. Thank you.

JLouM another vote for Motorola. I recently changed after not wanting to pay for Samsung and I'm so glad I did.

JLouM I have a different model and it is slightly more expensive but I bought my father the same model as Leanne and we have no problems with it all. It is slightly slower than the more expensive but for the basics it runs well enough.

I’ve got an iPhone SE but also have a Samsung Galaxy A05s, they were £99 on Amazon still when I looked the other day.

Have you been to your nearest Apple store? The staff in our are wonderful and will help clear up and delete bits that may have taken up lots of storage. Also worth asking how much a replacement battery is.

Pjran thing is they have stopped doing updates for that phone so he won't be able to use it for what he needs

Loads of great phones for around £100 that are unlocked. You should be able to get 6GB of memory perhaps 128GB of storage and a decent camera and reasonably fast chipset. Just look at the phone offers on this site and the other site beginning with H and then check them out at somewhere like GSMarena for spec until you find the right phone for you. You don't need a premium phone those phones are only marginally better/faster and don't represent much bang for your buck.

CEX offer a 5 year warranty on their products and always worth checking your local store for smartphones as sometimes you can get a good deal there and if its a local store you won't have to pay postage of £3. It is worth considering secondhand. Redmi models can be very good value. Always worth considering cashgenerator and cashconverters too. I bought my Redmi Note 10 Pro from cashconverters which was £80 delivered and has 4K Video recording with stabilisation and a 108 Megapixel camera, its a brilliant phone and I've had getting on 2 years. The later version, the Redmi Note 11 Pro is actually inferior for a lot of the spec surprisingly.

I have now got my new phone but have had to reload apps. I had 43,100 points here but now I only have 120? Seems a lot to lose?
