Best Bottle For a Newborn?

Ask a Question

Hey guys...

Please help.. I am going crazy here..

We got tommee tippee bottles as I was told they are the best for the babies. I even ordered the one that say anti colic, but i can tell you that they are not doing any good for my baby.

It seems to me that they are giving her gas as the flow is to fast.

Can you please advise what bottle I should get for my 2 week old baby???

I have heard that MAM should be great.

Thanks

Have you got free flow tests I found them easiest. Advert bottles are good too. With my two oldest over 18 years now I used to use the bottles from pound shop all babies are different I wouldn’t go buy a set I would get one of each to try to keep cost low.

It is all to do with the teats. It didn't matter what bottle I gave my son but he would only take one kind of teat.

He had to have a special teat due to his heart condition, it was a specific one the hospital used but you could buy them on Amazon.

Go for a free flow teat or one with a slow flow. Infacol will help with gas or gripe water when over a month.

Try using the colic hold, lie her on her tummy over your arm or knee if you prefer and then wind her as normal. Keep winding until you hear the wind come up, try holding her so she is slightly tilted upright when feeding as it helps ease reflux.

My son had awful reflux from day one and had to be put on a prescription medication for reflux, but he had other health issues that were a contributing factor.

Mam bottles are great, because of the teat.

Advice I was given;

Your baby may be drinking too fast which is why he has colic so try and move the Nipple around and slightly out the mouth to prevent this,

Infacol from birth, gripe water from 1 month plus. Also depending on how much your baby drinks, e.g 2oz, stop after 1oz, sit your baby up or against your neck and burp them, carry on feeding them to stop the build up. I was recommended poundshop bottles but my baby settled with avent he would not take tommee tippee at all. Hope this helps

Try this technique after a feed. Sit baby on knee placing hand under chin and palm against chest. Slightly lean baby forward and move baby in a circular motion six times slowly. Repeat anti clockwise. Then gently rock side to side same amount of times. All the air should rise and baby should hopefully burp or sometimes bring excess milk or vomit up.Do as many times as you need to.

Hey everyone...

Wow. You all are amazing

Thank you so much for all amazing advice and i will definitely try them.

I feel that she is eating to fast with TT bottles and that she pulls in to much air.

We have given her colic for 2 days as i was told not to give it longer than that.

My Family recommended to make some camomile tea. The bag should just be put in the water and after 3 sec take out.

I was a bit worried to try it but in end i felt like i don't have any choice

I did it last night and she finally settled down to get some sleep

I have still ordered a MAM bottle thats coming today to try

My goal is to breastfeed, but my milk is not that good atm as i had a trauma just before giving birth. I lost my mum and i am trying to breastfeed her but she needa topping up as it doesn't seem to be enough.

Again.. Thank you so much for all your help and support and advice. I really appreciate it.

All advise are welcome...

☺️☺️☺️

Good luck. Keep trying with breastfeeding it's the best bonding experience for both of you and could actually help you deal with your grief. I lost my mum last year was her first birthday since losing her yesterday
