The Next-Gen Xbox Won't Be Called Xbox Series X, but Simply "Xbox"
In the News
Long story short, "Series X" applies to additional Xbox models, but the main is just called Xbox.
That's kind of confusing, but it makes sense. Pretty much everyone just calls it an Xbox when referring to the current one, but if it's a previous then it's more specific like Xbox 360 and "Classic Xbox" or "Original Xbox".
Some were comparing the name confusion to Nintendo's Wii U although the Xbox has always been a massive hit whereas the Wii U was a market failure and hardly any actually owned it. Despite that, the Wii U is a really good console with some great games.
Moreover, these are the Xbox console names: Xbox > Xbox 360 > Xbox One > Xbox
If simply "Xbox" were to be an issue then so would have been Xbox One.
