NHS Clapping
In the News
Great to see strangers who dont normally socialise with people coming out to clap keep it up
They socialise around here anyway. People just don't bother listening to government advice.
Until they lose a friend or family member, they're going to carry on.
I hate them with a passion.
TheChimp I completely understand that you're shielding at the moment. When you are able to go out I truly hope you wouldn't be abused. Stay safe.
I get the sense of community you refer to but sorry, its false. It's temporary because the minute I shut that front door, I realise what c**ks they are again. It's mostly an empty gesture too with very little substance behind it for some. I've seen the same neighbour clapping one day and getting about 1ft from a delivery bloke who brought him a snooker table he didn't need the next day. People are t***s and a bit of clapping isn't going to change that.
Dennab I know what you mean hardly anyone comes out in my street but I'm still going clap every Thursday till this ends and even after that x
Our estate was out as per usual clapping although I donβt agree with fireworks my dog was a nervous wreck
LeighReidAtanas People setting off fireworks etc have lost focus. They're the same people out there flouting the rules, spreading a virus.
I think clapping for the NHS is a fantastic turn of events as it shows how we all appreciate what all NHS staff to save lives on a regular basis.....my uncle is a pilot for the air ambulance at Norwich.....so yeah I clap for him too.....
Nice idea but it's just when I am doing bed time. Would be better to do it a bit earlier in the evening
People here now have started banging saucepan lids and letting off fireworks, scaring the hell out of all the dogs and cats!
I keep thinking of the tories voting against a pay rise for nurses a while ago and clapping and cheering in the commons when they won. I live in a very tory-voting area and there's something about all the clapping round here that leaves a bad taste for me, like it's too little too late.
There all jumping on the bandwagon now that's why. It does leave a sour taste for me too.
Clapping is all well and good, but it doesn't make up for PPE shortages and years of understaffed hospitals.
