NO Takeaway Outlet Would Deliver to NHS Nurses
Other
This is true. My daughter and her team were asked 2 hours before end of shift to stay another 4 and no takeaway outlet would deliver. They did eventually get some food delivered but the company refused to accept NHS discount which they usually take. This is not what they want at the end of what became a 14 hours shift and 54 hour week.
I do not understand this. Why could they not deliver to a safe place in car park or similar. The person picking up approach and wait 6 metres away, the deliverer put the food down and drive off. It's not rocket science.
Companies being idiots, these were all companies used by the same nurses when on normal night shift and food was always left at reception or security who then phoned the relevant nurse/ward. The delivery man NEVER saw the Nurse. It's past and she is back to longer shifts today and all week with emergency food in her bag.
Your daughter and her team needs to find a new takeaway once all this is over - this company don’t deserve their business.
The team vary the 'takeaway' on a rota basis so everyone has fair choice of what they really like, none of which would deliver. Looks like the one who did, that they'd never used before, will get the orders from now.
lilyflower good! What a disgrace - the country hailing the NHS as heroes, but in reality, they can’t even get fed!
gerrykelly25 even more difficult now with the fast food outlets closing. They were the place to go at the end of shift.
