No Toilet Paper Left - Time to Get a Bidet?

In the News

I was amused to read that bidet sales have increased as a result of people fearing loo roll shortages

https://www.standard.co.uk/news/londoners-diary/the-londoner-bidets-are-flush-thanks-to-the-bug-a4385506.html

do you have a bidet? Would you consider one? At the most I’d get a hose, but not an entire bidet

no way! I don't have the space to accommodate a bidet, and I don't like them - have never considered them sanitary or necessary

I’ve always loved these. The first time I went to Japan, I was delighted to see these everywhere, including in domestic properties!

Not really Spexy in Slovakia and eastern europe they have a bucket full of water and a towel next to the toilet and wipe their arse with that - quite simple really and much better for your bottom - avoids that nasty arse juice and skid marks on yer y's' and saves £££££ - TP is so over rated - I reckon it saves £200 a year using a wet flannelette - when the Zombie Apocalypse really arrives and Tesco is no more people will have to find alternative means to clean thy bottom!

The Poles and Russians are laughing at our Toilet Paper obsession at the mo loads of jokes on the Polish forums about Brits running out of TP - my girlfriend keeps asking why British people are so scared of their own bottom and a wee bit of jobby - i can see her point Brits are a bit AN@L if you pardon the expression about wiping their bottom with anything else other than primo aloe vera scented TP - I mean cmon yer bum doesnt have a nose does it - mind you a lot of people i meet talk out of their bum!

Lol very true. There have been a few times I had to get used to using facilities that are very different from here. One time I was on a mountain too next to a temple and really, really needed to go - and there were no such facilities, and no running water! On a separate occasion in the same country, when I asked about toilet roll, I was given an old newspaper 😂 I’ve currently got loads of those, with articles that aren’t even worthy of **** covering it 😜

I think toilet paper should be rationed as there is no loo roll in any supermarkets

Buy a portable one. Due to complications with first child my Mum got me one, really was a godsend, (still in use) https://www.completecareshop.co.uk/toileting-aids/toilet-reducer-rings-and-bidets/bidet-bowl and all for under £10

I’ve never seen these before, but it makes sense. Thanks for sharing. I guess you never need one until times like these fall upon us

Lol as long as it doesn’t get flushed down the toilet - currently, people are flushing all sorts down and it’s blocking the sewers

I was watching Romesh Ranganathan do an insta live stream last night and Paloma Faith came in. She said her partner is Algerian and uses a ‘bum wash pot’. It looked like a plastic teapot without a lid.
