Nowhere is Free Anymore

What's happen to our parks? Banned from feeding the ducks. No sitting on the grass. No picnic. I use to love to feed the ducks. And no more music in the bandstand. Posh parks you now got to pay to go in. Nowhere is free now.
I'm lucky to live near a very nice park but the amount of dog mess means you can't just throw down a blanket and relax It also gets littered a lot too, it's such a shame people don't take pride in their green spaces.
Well, it's free but it isn't. The park is owned by someone and he/she decided to implement those rules so people wouldn't make a huge mess of it as it has happened time and time again in other places.
A supermarket park is public (but privately owned) is free to park your automobile there for an X amount of time but it if goes over the limit then it'll be removed and be penalized. And if someone decides to do driving lessons in a supermarket's parking space then that's another way to get fined, too. In case someone wants to learn to drive, use the official services or a space that's not inter-connected to public space (in other words, blocked from the public).
The internet is in sort of the same shape, ISPs and Govts have been blocking websites for our "safety" so to bypass that annoyance, I have to use a VPN service (Windscribe works exceptionally well)
sorry to hear that. Im fortunate enough to still be able to enjoy all those free things nearby, and more. Though it’s not common, my neighborhood occasionally close off the road to have a community street party, where people share food and drink, and the kids get to play out in the street. Not sure if they’ve got approval from the council but if it doesn’t bother anyone, then the authorities won’t need to step in to put restrictions on it
You are very lucky. I bet the street party are fun. And it's lovely all so to hear people are still getting on with one other.
It’s not bad - certainly a good step towards getting some sort of community spirit together. But we are nowhere near getting that tight-knit community bond one might remember in the good old days. However, it certainly means more support when you need it. You tend to get less burglaries in an area where everyone is watching out for each other
My local park is now pretty much the only free green space left in the area, so when I was kid it would be pretty much empty. There were 3 areas for kids to play in and a bit of football practice on a Sunday morning. Now there are football teams practicing every night of the week taking up most of the field, there is a cricket pitch and only one children's area which is always packed, then there are the dog walkers. If you wanted to sit down on the grass you would have to mind the footballs, cricket balls, dogs. There's always so many people there now. Not exactly what I would call a relaxing place to have a picnic.
im lucky to live in a nice bit of Tunbridge Wells - we have a lovely park - down side at the moment is that they are building houses on the old allotments so the amount of dust is horrendous :-(
We have a fantastic park just down the road from us! It is very well maintained, there is a skate park, an outdoor gym, space to play football, go for picnics and walk the dog. The park is always tidy and if there are any issues (such as broken glass etc) it is sorted out quickly. There is also a childrens play park just down the hill from my house. It is always busy and again well maintained as the locals keep it tidy. There is also a wonderful park in the town centre, there is a rugby pitch, childrens play area and a seperate are for dog walking and another one for picnics. We are very luck to have 3 parks so near to us, all of which are well kept and well used!
