How Often Do You Do a Food Shop?
Ask a Question
How often do you do a food shop and do you do one large one with top ups or how do you all work it? I am cutting back this year
Dieting in the new year so will be less but still at least once a week for some sort of shop.
ha yeah brilliant idea maybe I should do that it will improve my waistline and wallet in 2020
I just buy things as I need them. I don’t do a big weekly shop because I’m not always at home every night for meals so was wasting a lot of food. So now I buy things as we need them
We do a shop once a week and then if we need things inbetween my husband gets them on his way home from work or I get them after my sons playgroup
We’ve been budgeting and meal planning for a good while now, which means one weekly food shop.. but now I’m on a diet, which means I need more fresh fruit and veg which only seems to last a few days and then I need to get more
is it just me or is anyone else finding that fresh fruit and veg isnt lasting like it use to or says? grrrrrrr
My husband works in a supermarket so he always comes home with stuff I’m sure we don’t need! do a big shop every two weeks? But in between he’s always bringing stuff back as obviously fresh fruit and veggies don’t last that long!
Try and do a big shop to last a few weeks. Then we usually do a top up shop if we are desperate.
Once a week we do a big shop and then just pop to the shop during the week if we need to.
Most days , small amounts, usually different stores depending on what we want, or what is on offer somewhere.
Usually do a shop once a week and then pick up any bits that we've run out of through the week if needed.
One 'big' one for the week with occasional top-ups if needed. Generally buy for planned meals rather than just random stuff.
We do a big shop once a week online for delivery, this allows me to meal plan for the week better. I usually pop into shops 2 or 3 times a week for fresh items. Veg / milk / bread etc.
I do several shops throughout the week, usually as I’m near all the shops and I just top up as I go along
It depends how often I get money off vouchers, but at least once a week. Prefer small shops, picking bargain, than a big online shop.
I do not have a regular routine for shopping. We just go when we need it so it varies if it is a large shop or a top up shop.
We do a big shop on a monthly basis and then follow it with a weekly top up shop for essentials.
I'm going shopping once a week nowadays. Pre covid I was in a shop of some sort nearly everyday. I soon realised there was no need for this at all and I now stay clear
I have an order of dry foods monthly and then 3 a week. I go to one supermarket for reduced bits and a farm shop for veg and main shop elsewhere
We only do a big shop monthly then top us as and when we need to. We don't drive doing small shops more often is easier for us.
I do my shop once a week, not stocking freezer up full and we have to eat what’s been bought. Cut back on food waste since doing this.
Top up during week for basics (we all take packed lunch to work etc).
Used to always have fridge and freezer full but found half of it was forgotten about and went to waste, find going once a week with a set list is better for us.
I tend to do my shopping most days, I live across the road from Tesco. Plus it gets me out.
