How Often Do You Leave Reviews?

Ask a Question

do you tend to leave a review more for bad experiences opposed to good experiences? for instance, I am much more likely to share a negative experience to warn others, although I try to leave as many positive experiences also, particularly sellers or companies who deserve it

I am a top reviewer on Amazon and IMDB - As an electronics and computer expert i like to help people make good choices on what to buy for longevity and avoid making bad buys that just go to landfill!

So many shill reviewers on Amazon its hard for folks to even trust the reviews now!

My Microwave is older than I am thats the way things should last so good to help folks save money and make things last and help the planet a wee bit!

ah yes, electronics is definitely an area where more reviews are needed, and even then it may not be enough to make an informed decision! ๐Ÿ˜‚ But there are so many dodgy reviews these days - read about one in the paper where the guy complained about the bar of 'soap' that he had on his pillow at the hotel he was staying at, and it turns out that it was indeed a bar of chocolate! so that was why the bar left a residue when he showered ๐Ÿ˜‚

ptenn00 Haha very good not heard that one!

Or how about the guy who sold a leftover christmas Brussel Sprout for ยฃ50 on ebay.

Just when you think you have heard the craziest thing another comes along next day!

To be honest I actually did it as well - My mate Dave challenged me when we were camping in Arran to try and sell a stone so i picked up a rather interesting stone in the Kings Cave in Arran and mounted it on a piece of oak - polished it and varnished it and put a little brass plaque on it and advertised it on ebay as a stone from the famous Robert The Bruce cave and it sold for over ยฃ200 to an American - My mate Dave has never questioned my ability to sell anything on ebay after that! True story the Americans love anything from Scotland hence the popularity of that Highlander romance series that is on at the mo they cannot get enough of their heritage lol

I dont think ive actually left a positive review on amazon which is strange considering when im looking to buy something i usually go for something with the most reviews ๐Ÿ™ˆ i would leave a negative review if something i bought was crap. I do leave some positive reviews for companies on fb though.

Iโ€™m always honest on trip advisor whether leaving hotel or restaurant reviews. Some good to wonderful and the last hotel review was shocking, for ยฃ250 a night it was dreadful. Yes it was a special occasion we were celebrating.

Speaking of reviews, Kelsey and I are thinking about introducing them on Latest Deals, so you can write a review for a shop and then other members can see what you think... To try and help other members see genuinely which shops are good. Might this be of interest?

If there was no reward for writing the review then it might be a very useful feature, but I, and I'm sure many others, do not trust or take much notice of any review or recommendation where we know the writer has been rewarded for doing so, I don't even take much notice of how many "likes" a deal has.โ˜บ

Yes, I think itโ€™ll be useful, especially for new companies that are popping up all over the place. Some people already create chat topics about them, so itโ€™ll be great to be able to redirect people who want more info (itโ€™ll be like having your own version of trustpilot on this site - perhaps have a rating system for the retailers also?)

That's a good idea. There are always people wondering whether or not the likes of 'Wish' are any good, so it would be a useful to share experiences in this way

About ten years ago I think I only ever left reviews when I had a bad experience but I realise that it was probably laziness that stopped me reviewing when the experience was good. (nothing to complain about so not remembering to do so) Services, of every kind, can change on a monthly basis so it really is important that good reviews are logged. I'm getting better at leaving honest feedback.

I write reviews and try never to leave a negative review unless I have given the company sufficient opportunity to rectify any problem. If they don't. . . God help 'em! โ˜บ

I used to always write them, but then I started buying so much online, it was difficult to keep up ๐Ÿ˜‚ I tend to leave good reviews for the truly superb retailers, the ones who have gone above and beyond, and negative ones with detailed information of why they were so bad to help warn others

When I eat out at somewhere new I will always write a great review if I felt the food and service deserved it.

If I though it wasn't good or had a bad experience, in this case I would tend to contact the place direct and see what they would have to say.

I try to write a review for items purchased online if I feel it will assist somebody else, whether its a good or not so good review.

I contacted Curry's a while ago with regard to the exceptional service I received from a member of staff in one of their stores who went above and beyond, I gave him a glowing report online but didn't even receive an acknowledgment from Curry's, hopefully the member of staff did. ๐Ÿ˜„
