Cranberry & Pork Sausage Rolls sound good.
I knocked up this spiced Pecan Bunt yesterday, it was very nice, if a little dry
I will be making a Kransekake over the weekend, which is a Scandinavian almondy ring cake.
blacklabrador Wow! that's an amazing looking Bundt! Impressive. When you make the Kransekake please post the picture here.
Black labrador your cake looks lovely. I would love to make one. Are these easy to make I think mine would not turn out like yours. Do you have to line the tin. And did you make your kransekake .
nicolajaynehend Just a smear with butter did the trick for me, but then ours is not a fancy bunt tin so no nooks and crannies for cake to get stuck in.
I'll probably make the Kransekake Monday or Tuesday.
Hi nicolajaynehend glad to hear youโre keeping busy I wonโt be baking, but we got a pressure cooker/air fryer recently and hope to putting it to good use. I want to make scotch eggs for the first time
Hspexy love scotch eggs. It's a very long time since I made them. I have a air dryer but have never done scotch eggs. Now you got me think I might try it. Hope you are keeping well.
nicolajaynehend Iโm well, thanks. Iโm hope youโre well too. Hope you have fun making scotch eggs
nicolajaynehend I knew I shouldn't have looked at the thread - I am now feeling very peckish! I won't be baking the usual amount of things this Christmas due to the restrictions. I hope your delivery brings everything on your list .
This is the only thing I will still make because it's never lasts very long, goes well with a hot drink and nothing is wasted.
A Nutella snowflake
kfe202 It's so simple......it's a little embarrassing! I'll find a link but, basically, it's a layer of puff pastry rolled into a circle spread with Nutella, a matching pastry circle on top and then cuts made, almost to the centre and twisted.
This one explains with pictures http://inspiredinthecity.com/2018/11/30/christmas-recipe-nutella-pastry-snowflake/
Sunny101 this looks lovely and tasty. Bet it will not last long. I might give it a go. I know it will not turn out like yours
I'll do my baking on Tuesday. Mince pies, date slice, cheese straws, chocolate cake, spiced fruit tray bake, toffee crisp tray bake and see what else takes my fancy to bake
Lillyflower how do you make you cheese straws . I all ways end up buying them I've been told they are easy to do.
nicolajaynehend Really easy
100g plain flour
Pinch salt
1 tsp smoked paprika pepper
50g butter or margarine
50g Lancashire cheese, grated
1 egg yolk
A little cold water to mix
Method
Sift the flour into a bowl with the salt
Rub in the butter or margarine until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs, then stir in the cheese
Add the egg yolk and then bind together, adding a little cold water to form a stiff dough
Roll out the dough thinly on a floured board and cut into 7.5cm strips. Cut each strip into thin straws
Arrange the straws on a greased baking tray and bake for 10 โ 15 minutes until golden brown
Leave the straws to firm up on the baking tray and when transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely
If you have kids the toffee crisp is easy
equal amounts of toffee, block marg, marshmallows, rice krispies - melt first three ingredients in a large pan then add krispies, spread into swiss roll tin and leave to set.
lilyflower thank you ever so much for taking the time and trouble to do this. I will do them both. When I get some flour and rice krispies. Have a lovely time baking. your kitchen is going to smell lovely.
