Opening Windows in Winter

Ask a Question

My other half and my kids think im crazy because every morning i open my upstairs windows just a bit no matter how cold it is. I close them by the afternoon but i think bedrooms especially need fresh air. I always make the beds, turn and fluff pillows and leave the duvets pulled back to air the beds. Am i really that crazy and is it an old wives tale that you need to air your beds and rooms? Ive always done it as long as i can remember

My son is 14 and no amount of febreze will get rid of teen boy smell. He showers regularly, clean clothes daily and clean bedding weekly its still there

I don't fry anything so that would be one of the reasons to open the windows, but I don't.

I generally try to avoid opening so flies and mosquitoes don't get it, although they still somehow do. Thankfully it's just one that shows up and gets electrocuted.

I've smashed some who were filled with a considerable amount of blood. Ugh.

I like my bedroom window open all year round, I have only just put the fan away the last month the hubby sleeps with a woolly hat on 🤔🤣

I open the bathroom window the most - need some ventilation after showering so the room doesn't stay wet.

Like JaneWest I have my bedroom window open all year when I'm at home - unless the rain is coming in.

It depends where you live. If i was in the countryside or lived closer to some green space, I’d have my windows open. But in London, you’ll mostly be letting the pollution in

No you need to air the house, some nights I sleep with the window open cos it gets hot and stuffy.
