Opinion on Marmite

You either love it or hate it
I donโt enjoy marmite but quite a few people who enjoy it . If you do like it why and what do you eat it with ?
Also just saw a news article about lynx launching marmite scented body spray and wash (what an odd combination).
Not for me personally but enough people seem to like it, don't know how well the lynx marmite products will sell though! I think even if I liked the taste I wouldn't want to wash with it lol
'Marmite is a food spread made from yeast extract invented by German scientist Justus von Liebig and originally made in the United Kingdom. It is a by-product of beer brewing and is produced by Dutch-British company Unilever. '
I am very surprised more men don't like it. Also it is rich in b vitamins so very good for you. I sometimes have it on toast rather than jam which has no health benefits.
i dont like the brand marmite that much but i love the tesco own brand of it i find it less thick and alot cheaper
Like marmite but go years between having some as there are other foods which I like as much that are much cheaper. It is a nice savoury spread though but its quite a premium price, its only yeast sludge a waste product of the brewing industry. Don't get me wrong its healthy and lovely in sandwiches but the profit margin is huge. If it was 99p a jar fair enough but its like ยฃ4-5 for a jar. It does go a long way though admittedly. I only need a very thin amount in a sandwich. I was going to try the Tesco version but that is still quite expensive and keep forgetting to look for it.
It tastes nasty to me. Now and again I may try it to see if my tastebuds have changed, but from the last time I tried, itโs still gross
I really like it and all of the other associated products I've tried. I bought some of the Marmite biscuits yesterday. They also tasted good.
Strangely though, like the taste of marmite crisps occasionally, as they dont seem to taste same, they taste beefy.
i eat Marmite like chocolate spread. As for Bovril, I grew up on Bovril and dripping. It's a heavenly combination but I don't recommend you eat it regularly
I bet you're from the north..my mam used to give us dripping on bread sometimes as kids.(or called 'mucky fat') & they sprinkled it with salt too in those days.
Yes i think so.(or used to be anyway)mucky fat on bread is even put out for buffet party spread.@dawarwick
I may get round to it when i do a pork roast.. some of my grandkids like bovril too..the drinks machines (in hosp etc) used to always have bovril drink but you don't see it anymore.
I have marmite almost every morning, (that is unless I have bacon). It's fantastic stuff!
I am a hater of Marmite! But then again I am probably one of the most fussiest eaters ever. I love chocolate and tried marmite chocolate before and it was horrendous
Vile, ive never actually tried it but if it tastes anything like it smells its vile. My bf eats it and i can smell it on his breath after
I had some Marmite XO on toast this morning.
I bought it when it was offer, but I certainly wouldn't buy it at its normal price.
i have childhood memories of this mysterious jar of brown stuff being in the cupboard and when curiosity got the better of me i made myself of cup of hot marmite and never had it ever again lol, i thought it was the same as Bovril but its not
