See below. She has replied twice in this thread now. You didn't give her much chance though?

MeestairChrees You came late to the party. My comment was regarding two previous topics that had no replies. Credit to the poster, she then went back and participated.

angemski yeah, not been around much recently, but in this thread she was quick to reply so seemed a bit unfair to jump so quickly.

MeestairChrees I noticed you've not been as active recently - hope you're OK. The poster's topics were good and it would have been a shame if the future ones were ignored because the two previous hadn't had return input. Sorry for delay in answering but the weather and the garden kept calling...... πŸ˜†

angemski hadn't realised I was that noticeable! πŸ˜† But yes, fine thanks - just been busy planning world domination πŸ˜‰ Hadn't seen the other threads, but that's probably obvious!

angemski haha. Yours sounds like it could be Russian, so I could say the same about you (no offence if you are actually Russian!) πŸ˜…

I read the books and watched the films. I thought the films were well made but the books edged it for me. Have you seen Battle Royale though? It predates Hunger Games by several years and in my opinion betters it.

That's great to know as I am planning on reading the books this week and I loved the films. No i have not seen Battle Royale, I will have to look into it. Thanks πŸ™‚

char2020 Battle Royale is a Japanese film with subtitles. I hope that doesn't put you off. Also a lot more violent than The Hunger Games films. There is a Battle Royale 2 but that is poor.

Just came here to recommend Battle Royale too. Not seen it since the Hunger Games films so need to rewatch, but certainly more gory.

MeestairChrees wow I can't believe I have not watched it if it is so popular 😱! Will definitely need to now 😁

As I say I don't mind the Hunger Games films at all but I think most people who've seen Battle Royale want to recommend it. I need to rewatch too. Just have to find the DVD in my loft!

I’ve only watched the films. At the time I thought they were good, but I suspect the books are better. As mentioned, Battle Royale is way better

I probably enjoyed the first film the most, but I don't think this film series has aged very well. But, I do tend to like Jennifer Lawrence films. I agree with other posters Battle Royale is a better film, but wouldn't recommend to anyone who doesn't like more violent films.

I quite liked them easy to watch and fast paced but sometimes they can drag things out a bit
