Whats everyone's opinion on Harry and Meghan stepping down as senior roles and splitting their time between UK and USA?

That's fine step down but don't receive any taxpayers money and pay some of it back for the expensive wedding if they cant be arsed with so called royal duties. Cant just pick and choose what they want to do.

That's exactly what I was going to suggest - that they pay the British public back for the wedding, the renovation of their new house and everything else that WE have paid for! 🐞

I just hope they don't get any tax money. Also I find this rather silly they always talk about the environment, I'm sure travelling between USA and the UK is very harmful for the environment. Think they should stick to one

I'm no fan of the Royal family. That's fine if that's what they want, but no more tax money, no security paid for by the tax payer - they need to arrange and finance their own security and yes, they should pay back all that money that the tax payer gave them for their OTT wedding. Now go away to Canada, the moon, wherever and have a nice life at your own expensive.

If they want to step down then that is their prerogative but they should no longer have their royal titles, should not receive any tax payers money, if they need security they should pay for it themselves. If they no longer wish to carry out royal duties then they are no longer entitled to the privileges that being royal brings. I hope they find what they are looking for and that they are happy.

I don't believe they are actually stopping the contact with the crown they still want certain privileges. I don't particularly like Megan and think this is mainly her doing. He just loves her.

I think it’s great that they want to pay their own way but maybe they should have done that before setting up home and paying millions for refurbishment.

Poorly planned, disorganised, rushed MEGXIT. No thank you.

Well organised, financially independent, respectful MEGXIT. Yes please.

They’re worth about £40m anyway. That really ought to be enough to exit and live a quiet life without cashing in on the royal brand. But I suspect they want to keep up with the joneses, Obama’s, Beckhams, Williams etc - so their £40million will be blown in short order.

I‘m sick of reading about them and their ‘dramas’. It’s best they be on their merry way. It just gives the tv shows, like the crown, more material to work with

I believe they should be able to do what they want, but if they step away from the Royal Family they shouldn't receive any UK tax payer money, including money for security, or capitalize financially on their royal association. If Harry went to work full time with a charity or with the Invictus Games Foundation people would be more accepting of the change.

I can’t make my mind up. I feel like it’s his duty and his family. you can’t just step down when you feel like it. It must not be always nice being in the lime light from such a young age. But that’s just life and luck of the draw. But part of me things well it’s his life he can do what he wants.

You can tell Harry is miserable so fair enough. Meghan has no ties with most of her family, i hope they don't do the same with Harry's. And like everyone is saying I don't think the taxpayer should fund them at all.
