Organic or Not Organic?
Other
I am wondering what do you think about these products? If you use any? If there is a difference...
I usually order organic veg and fruit and it taste different than the supermarket ones. Milk has a huge differece. Since I drink organic can not get back to normal, because I feel some chemically aftertaste in supermarket's own milk. I was wondering if it is just me, who feel the difference?
AgnesFaludi My taste buds are lucky enough to enjoy this milk over the rubbish that is forced on us today. https://www.grahamsfamilydairy.com/our-products/gold-range/gold-top
we did a two week trial for Riverford Organic veg boxes, fully expecting to cancel it after the two weeks - never looked back since - the veg tastes so much better than the supermarket organic veg. Might not be cheap but its worth it.
I think I am either unlucky that my taste buds are so bad that I am not fussy about most foods, as in coffee, tea, etc I can never really tell the difference from one brand to the other, as in fruit, eggs, etc, any old stuff does me, not sure if that is a good or bad thing to be honest.
Supermarket eggs are same, even the free range ones looks and taste the same and they come from the same farm. I order sometimes organic eggs from Abel and Cole and their organic ones are lovely and yellow, which means your cakes and pasta will look better and you do not need to color them.
AgnesFaludi I have to admit I do get where you are coming from when buying true organic direct so you know they really are organic. I have always been skeptical about supermarket organic foods as there is so much going on you are never sure if you really are getting organic or are just being mugged off, even the supermarkets are never sure, they just take things as gospel most of the time.
CashoutCarl I realized one of the leading supermarket's eggs are coming from the same place, so I always buy the cheapest eggs from them.
I always buy local grown produce. I'm lucky enough to live near a fab market. I tend to buy organic from the supermarket only if I really want summat and it's out of season. It's rare though, my local green grocer does a fab veg/fruit selection box for £10.
We haven't got a local greengrocer so everything is from the supermarket. We buy frozen veg as it lasts longer for us, so it isn't organic, I always look for reduced fruit, so only organic if it is reduced in price. We are saving money, so we don't tend to buy organic as it is more expensive. We are everything supermarket own and yellow stickers! I can't actually taste the difference anyway! Nor can my husband.
I tried some organic veg and some of them not good, but Riverford is very nice.. I know it cost more, but we eat more heathier, because it make me use the whole box of vegetables. If I go to the supermarket, I do not buy a lot of them, but need them to have a healthy diet. And because I have a baby, I think about her future. She needs to start her diet right.
AgnesFaludi We eat a lot of fruit and veg in our house and make sure we are healthy, but organic is just too expensive for us. Plus, I find that we have less waste with frozen fruit and veg.
