Oscars TV Viewership Hit an All-Time Low.

It didn't help they injected politics into it and climate change and all that. Stuff that has nothing to do with films.

It didn't help that the full list was available to view yesterday morning and the ceremony was on sky last night

One of the reasons I don't like shows like this is they often miss the really good programmes and films. Gentleman Jack, HBO BBC has been completely ignored by the awards ceremony people and I'm not happy.

I don't think I've ever watched the oscars fully in my life but have seen snippets occasionally. Always found it incredibly boring with much of the awards not of interest to me. Reminds me of the 'Star Wars Holiday Special' in that its best avoided and often puts me off the movies featured or related to it and occasionally cringe worthy.

I dont think anyone could watch the entire thing without thinking how dull it is, especially if most are using the platform to champion ideas that we are not sure they really care about - it's just another chance to perform

I've always found award shows incredibly boring, but now they've got worse with an ever increasing number of stars feeling compelled to preach to the audience. Especially if they have said the same thing many times before. Being in a successful film doesn't automatically make you an authority on a particular subject.

I agree that it's more of a personal opinion show and not relevant to the film industry. It's become the Whingers Club and it's best to watch the highlights without all the drama filled speeches. They've done themselves no favours and there are many regular views giving it a miss. Sad to say that there appears to be more interest in what the actors are wearing than the film content.

It's all the politics that does it. These over paid idiots, who make their living pretending to be someone they are not in films, in an industry full of casting couches and child abuse of youngsters, think they can stand up there and preach to us all. Nope. I think the public are catching on. These multi millionaires, who do god knows what to get famous, stand there and want to lecture us. Not happening. I really don't care what Pitt, Di Caprio, etc think about anything.
