Have Your Own Pets Ever given Birth ?

Ask a Question

It is the most amazing experience. I have had a pregnant cat, dog and rabbit. What are your experiences?

One of my cats gave birth to 4 beautiful kittens. It was an interesting experience. The mother cat is sadly no longer with us, but we have still got 2 of her babies

Our cat had four kittens years old, Mum is still alive but unfortunately we had to put her son down last month, he was 15 and Mum is 16. Our dog had three litters, we kept one from the last litter, she is still with us aged 10 but mum passed away naturally.

I never saw the birth, but I enjoyed every moment after the kitties were born. They were so tiny! Now they've grown up and are little monsters, but still babies in my eyes

I watched our girl cat give birth. She had three little kittens, one of which we kept and two sisters who went to live with a family member. (Lovely, because we get updates!). It was an amazing but quite terrifying experience. Little boy kitten was born in the amniotic sac, Mummy Cat hadn't noticed him as she was focusing on the other two and he was struggling to breathe. We ended up having to grab some little scissors and free him ourselves. He's a little bruiser now but we weren't convinced he'd make the night.

My mum breeds dogs. And watching a dog that you've grown up with being mad and nutty and then becoming a mum who is so gentle sweet and caring. Its amazing!! Although I want to keep them all

It is lovely bringing up kittens but it is heart breaking letting them go, but we know they went to good homes, and still get updates on one of them ten years later which is nice!
