Paid to Walk

Ask a Question

Apparently there are apps that reward you for walking. Anybody out there using them and if so which ones would you recommend?

Thanks Image

My wife has used a couple, but gave up in the end never appeared to be rewarding. Would Definitely be interested in finding one that paid.

Howmuch I doubt I’ll be making much money from the app but it’s shown me my stats for the past week and I’m shocked at the 8th/9th - I knew I had a lazy weekend but this shows I was a proper sloth 🦥😂🙈

Definitely good always been aware of how much you walk. I do go over the top sometimes and reach 20,000 plus, then I just feel ill. 74 steps is impressive, I might try to do less than that one day.

Howmuch Tbf when I do walk I go at a good pace (as if I’m really late!) and I think that’s better than the amount of steps. The 10,000 a day that everyone aspires to is just a marketing thing anyway

snoogans888 My wife and daughter do want to walk a lot faster than me, I blame my poorly hip. I am impressed that these days I can keep up a pace going up a hill, better than I could 15 years ago. So much fitness advice is just general, if you can see an improvement in yourself that is what matters to me. I am not competitive but I do like putting numbers on things steps counts are good to look back on as well as the speed you achieved.

Howmuch that’s great you’re getting out and about even with a poorly hip! And kudos to you for going up hills. They say walking on an incline has so many benefits - I get a double whammy with pushing a buggy up a steep hill 😅

Yeah I have heard about these in the past but sure a few of the health insurance companies stopped them.

I did a challenge where I had to do a Million Steps in 3 months (average 12000 a day). I did it but it takes a lot of time out of the day. Doing housework didn’t register much on the Fitbit. I felt much healthier too, but I haven’t kept it up!

I go out most days for a 3 hour walk. Not sure how many steps I do while walking, so I will download this app. Thanks for sharing MelissaLea1963 Image

My wife is just a few days off being able to claim a £10 Amazon voucher on the one she uses, if it pays out I will put the app name on here.

Howmuch Ooo I’m interested to know which app this is that your wife is using.

I’ve accumulated 95.00 Sweatcoins in 2 weeks. No idea what this translates to in real money though!

snoogans888 my wife uses sweatcoins as well as the one that pays in £10 Amazon vouchers. She has 5500 on sweatcoins, been doing that one for a while, I remember when she started the target was 20000 for a new iPhone, the reward system has changed now, she might get something from them one day.

wondering if the apps use more data than they earn points

They will definitely use the battery, could be a problem with an iPhone in winter.

I used an app called Whealthy for a bit, only until I cashed out once as I had seen reviews that said after the first cash out/the longer you use it they keep moving the goal posts so it becomes very difficult to get the rewards

So the one my wife uses is called Winwalk. She had to get 21000 points for a £10 Amazon voucher and earned about 100 day From walking 10,000 steps ( I think they have other options to earn points, like watching adds and playing games ). She Request a voucher today and it was instant, applied to Amazon account no problem. She has a new target of the 21000 again for her next voucher, I guess nobody will get rich doing it, but if you do the walking and track it anyway it is a nice bonus.
