London Council Orders 89 Year Old Woman to Destroy her street garden

Here we go again, another jobs worth council , this time attacking an 89 year old woman
She created a beautiful space outside her home over 25 years all at her own expense that the residents can use when they wish
She has a bench for people to sit on , numerous flower pots and vegetables
Now the council has ordered her to remove everything because residents have complained
But it's not a number of residents that have complained, it is just one !!
Westminster City Council also said her display is attracting anti social behaviour , which she says it is not
Unless you count people bending over to smell the flowers !!
Why can't they leave the lady in peace, she is 89 years of age and probably has not got much longer , at least wait until she is no longer here
Instead of persecuting her how about repairing a few potholes that are destroying vehicles , or find a few more union jacks to take down , better still harass a few more motorists with parking or ULEZ fines , they are good at that

This sort of thing does happen and unfortunately the council have to be seen to be acting so that, should someone else break a rule, they can't point to this situation and say that they didn't do anything about it. I really wonder why the 1 person complained because it seems they are pretty spiteful. I can't imagine it did attract anti social behaviour because there would be more people complaining about that. Some people are just so bitter that they don't want anyone to have anything nice.
It's such a shame as that poor lady spent a lot of her time doing that and clearly thinks about others. It probably gives her a purpose and enjoyment too.
I had a very well kept balcony garden for over 17 years and I returned home one day and the council were putting all of my flowers onto the back of a lorry alongside all of my neighbours.A few of us ladies kicked up a bit of protest but it did no good.To add insult to injury a few months later a council notice went up nearby for a town in bloom er included on the notice was balcony gardens.No kidding.
Probably one of the nicest parts and the council wants it ruined... They don't care about a good society.
I wish everyone would take more time and care with their outdoor spaces. One complaint about this garden seems very trivial. We have a chap going around our village and reports all hedges that are overhanging onto the paths. I understand the pathways needs to be free for people to get by but he reports it even it’s just one twig a bit too long. On the other side the council refuse to cut back hedges that belong to them because birds are nesting.
eyeballkerry How about he goes to Brixton, Croydon, Hackney, Slough, Birmingham, or Bradford. 
Thats awful and sad. Why are we being made to get rid of gardens etc. Bet tge garden brought the community together
It's what I expect from councils. That's all they day is ban things, pull something down, don't allow this or that. I'm beginning to think more and more that a certain type of person works for the council as I couldn't be doing that. They are like the warden from Dad's Army. Why do I feel no one really complained. They just enjoy bringing the public down.
You can't expect councils to do things like fix pot holes.
Bending over can be anti social if you fart
She needs to appeal maybe go to local CAB office
