How Much Would You Pay to Have a Zoom Chat with a Celebrity?

Ask a Question

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-53064050

Keanu Reeves is auctioning a 15-minute Zoom call for a children's cancer charity, currently at $9,800 (£7,800), and still rising. I’m sure he’s worth it, not that I’m willing to pay/bid

I can see a lot of other not so well known celebs trying to cash in on this idea, and I definitely won’t be paying to chat with them

What do you think of this?

Absolutely nothing as I would not want to feed their ego. However, I can see the merit in doing this for charity, he seems like a nice bloke.

He’s probably one of the nicest and down to earth people in the cold and brutal world of Hollywood. He would be worth it, but I ain’t paying 😜

Depends on the celebrity & the cause. My youngest son & OH are huge fans of Miles Kennedy & Tremonti from Alterbridge, I know they'd be willing to pay a fair amount.

For my eldest sons 18th birthday we used this site https://www.celebvm.com & payed a small amount for a quick video message from a member of a band he was a fan of. His face when we played it at his party was priceless.

Keanu Reeves is at least one of the good ones that will be worth it, as I am sure he will give you a conversation you would remember. The trailer for the new Bill and Ted is out now 👍

Lol I saw it. Not sure how good it will be, but it will bring back memories. Might have to watch the old films again

I would never pay that sort of money.

I'd quite like a conversation with Ozzy. I saw him in a Black Sabbath Ozzfest concert in late 1990s and without doubt best.act.ever.

I like Keanu Reeves and many of his films, but I still wouldn't bid on this even if I had a spare $10,000. What exactly are going to talk about... "I liked you in that surfing film". He'll be watching the clock for the entire session.

Personally I wouldn’t pay to chat with any celebrity but I hope a fair bit of money is raised for the charity. Let’s hope it catches on here in the U.K.

I wouldn't pay to chat with any of them, I doubt they can hold a conversation anyway! Although I would like to talk to Tom Hanks, but for free!

I don't think celebs should do that. While I understand its for charity, it dismiss the work that are done collectively for charities through solid work like a 5 mile run/walk.

The only people that can afford a chat with those bids in the end are those that are prob in his circle of fame and fortune or a very privileged family or individuals. Who says you would be satisfied in the end with the 15 mins conversation?

If he matches whatever the highest bidder pays, then id say its fair....

After all 2 people are talking right?!?

Which average person has £7000 to spend for 15 mins chatting? Its only targeting rich people. Also what do you even say as its only 15 mins long and would be over in a flash
