Peanut Butter - Smooth or Crunchy?

Ask a Question

Growing up, I couldn’t stand the stuff - I like peanuts an ok amount, but I always thought mushed down peanuts was yucky. However, I’ve recently tried some peanut butter ice cream and I found it strangely satisfying, both sweet and savoury

but on bread? On toast? On its own out of the tub? Nah, I’d rather have butter or cheese!

Do you like peanut butter?

I‘ve tried some cheap almond and cashew varieties from Home Bargains, and I think I prefer them to peanut butter

That's a fair point about baking. Smooth does have a use then. Don't understand why someone would otherwise choose it over crunchy though!

AgnesFaludi they do taste good, but in my experience, the peanut butter clogs up the straw!

It has always been something I fancy so I buy a jar and end up ditching after one use. I remember why I didn't like it due to the clagginess in my mouth! I like peanuts and absolutely adore peanut cookies, I also like a few thrown into a stir fry. Generally I do not eat them out of the bag as I do not like salt. If I do I sit with a clean cloth on my lap and wipe the salt off first, same with crisps though I usually buy walkers salt n shake.

I love peanuts, the flavour and the smell of them but I just can't get on with peanut butter. It always feels like someone has chewed them before me........and then there's that incessant 'gunk removal by tongue'.😆

Crunchy all the way.

Has anyone tried the new Marmite one?

I'm intrigued, but no. I don't like marmite. I assume it's both mixed together? Don't want to waste my money.

If you don't like Marmite, it's certainly not your thing.

Yep, it's kind of of mixed together.

angemski lol I think I’ve actively avoided marmite anything for a number of years, especially when I saw the marmite chocolate...if I’m offered a sample, I might give it a go, but I can’t imagine liking it (there’s a really gross fruit in Asia called the durian, which smells like sewage, and I always try it just in case I may like it one day...but so far, taste buds have never thanked me for putting myself through it time and time again)

I love peanut butter on toast. I also have it with dates on occasions. I prefer the crunchy but will happily eat either.

Have you tried it with coleslaw? A friend suggested it ages ago, and it gives the coleslaw a more satay-like flavour. It’s not bad, but I’m still not a fan

Got to be crunchy. I don't understand people who go smooth. Same with people who choose smooth orange juice - get bits!
