People Who Buy "Deals" but Don't Know What They Are or When You'll Use it...why?

Ask a Question

Why do you do this?

Why did you buy the dog food when you don't have a dog?

Or get the free nappy samples if you haven't got a baby or know someone who has?

Or buy any number of specialist items that you yourself have no use for? Why do you do it?

Gifts...I can understand.

Getting freebies online to then put in a food bank? I don't understand. Some of the people who are requesting freebies would need to use a food bank so why not let them get one of 50,000 of the freebie instead of getting it and then putting it in the food bank.

Just my thoughts. Please add your own whether you agree or not.

I guess it's another angle of hoarding. I haven't ever bought a deal on here but I do contribute 3 plus per day. I have everything I need and don't need to clutter my home with anything other than necessities. I expect that's a bonus of getting old lol.

Yeah. I just don't understand why someone would spend money on something they don't need or even know what it is!!

I never apply for a deal unless I can pass it on to a family member or use it myself. (if I have no use for it I wouldn't waste the money - no matter how cheap it was) Freebies, on the other hand, are fair game - I donate the feminine products and similar things to hostels/refuges/schools. I wouldn't apply for a freebie just because it is one. The way I see it - I am lucky enough to be able to afford most things but there are many people who struggle with the basics.. I am just redistributing anonymously.

But getting freebies when there is limited stock and then giving to food bank doesn't seem like it's fair to the people who actually want them and are applying for them. Maybe they need them just as much as the food banks?

GlitchHunter You could be right - I recently stood back from a limited offer of a young women fem product because they are the most needy and my conscience wouldn't let me apply. Food for thought so I thank you for the topic.

angemski I'm glad it makes people think. A different opinion can sometimes show people another view. Of course I appreciate you are still doing good by donating them.
