Phobias in DNA or Learnt?

Ask a Question

Scientists and Psychologists have found that humans are born with two phobias and for the purpose of safety; being afraid of heights and sudden loud noises. Any other phobias are then learned which means that if something happens to you i.e. a dog bites you and then you learn to stay away from dogs so that you would not be bitten again and have therefore learned to be afraid of dogs.

Phobias come from things that have happened to you or can be passed onto you from other people. This is why even if im afraid if something i try not to show my children so its not passed onto them. My little girl had a wasp buzzing around her and was saying ’hello’ so i was like say ‘shoo shoo’ when really i wanted to scream and run away 🤣
