Places to Visit
Feedback
I have been discussing with a friend how there are so many beautiful places to visit on our own doorstep yet we rarely do.
So I was looking for ideas on where & what you think is a must see. At the top of my list so far is LochNess & Stonehenge. I'd love some more ideas please
the Jurassic coastline is a must - I have yet to see it myself, but it has been highly recommended. If you can't get to Durdle's door, there is a mini version between Margate and Broadstairs
I have never heard of the Jurassic coastline but after a quick look online it looks amazing, so beautiful. Thank you
My sister lives very near Stonehenge and I must admit I was very disappointed when I saw it. And sooooo expensive to get in. I prefer to go to places that you can enjoy nature but also see and learn lots of things too. Warwick. Leeds and Hever Castle all have stunning grounds but also have things going on throughout the year. I especially like the re-enactments of jousting with the knights and ladies in costume and often Henry VIII and Anne Boleyn at Hever. My intention is to visit far more of these type of places this Spring and Summer before I am too old to travel too far.
I did wonder if Stonehenge would be as impressive in real life, I appreciate your feedback. I hadn't thought of Leeds & I love the idea of watching the jousting. Thank you

Oh wow you really do live in a beautiful area if you live in the highlands of Scotland, the views must be spectacular
Hi danbyk I live on a farm. At the back I've got mountains and the front I got sea views. I love it here. It's a very good life. I've a pony she is coming up to 31 years old had her from a foal. And it's a lovely place to hoilday. We got the queen mothers holiday home which you can go and see.
1. Denali National Park (Alaska)
The 92-mile road that runs through Denali National Park journeys across a subarctic landscape unparalleled in North America.
Golden eagles fly overhead, caribou climb ridges and grizzlies lumber across the tundra.

Crowned by the mountain that gave the park its name, the protected wilderness stretches over six million acres, an area the size of a small European country, like say, Macedonia.
It's hard to get lost on the only road through the park, and the campsites are so popular that the park set up a reservation system.
But it's easy to lose yourself in a landscape untouched by the passage of time, in a space so big that anyone would feel small.
