Are you planning to do extra things within next 3 weeks. With new rules in place.
Nope not been out for 7 weeks not even to exercise. And will stay in for weeks even months if it protects my family. No need to go out when everything I need can be delivered to my door
Do you not crave fresh air, new sights and a walk somewhere? I couldn't not go out and see something different. I've even found walking along roads incredibly boring.
MeestairChrees no even kids are happy staying put they understand how dangerous it could be. We have a big garden with plenty to do.
It just happens to be my sons 18th birthday tomorrow, He's been feeling down recently & Iv been worried about him, so the changes have come at the right time for him. It means he'll be able go see his girlfriend & gran on Wednesday even tho its still at a distance, he's over the moon.
Happy 18th birthday to your soon. From tomorrow he can:
At 18, he can now:
- Stand for election as an MP, local councillor or mayor
- Serve on a jury
- Be tried in a magistrate's court, and go to prison if found guilty of a criminal offence
- Make a will
- Pawn stuff in a pawn shop
- Vote in local and general elections.
- Get married without parental permission
- Consent to his body being used in a medical study
- Carry an organ donor card
- Buy cigarettes, rolling tobacco and cigarette papers
- Buy alcoholic drinks in a pub or a bar (or NOT!)
- Buy fireworks
- View, rent or buy an 18-rated film
- Place a bet in a betting shop or casino
- Get a tattoo
- Get body piercings
- Ride a motorbike above 125cc with a licence
- Drive lorries between 3,500kg and 7,500kg (with the appropriate licence)
I wonder what his top 3 priorities will be?! And of course how many of these things he's done already!
Caz2 he did also get a provisional licence though,and buy a scooter at 16- it gave him confidence to learn road safety & roadsigns etc, enough to give driving a go, passed his test at 19& has had a car since.He's a very good driver.And NEVER drinks when hes going to be driving,even next day.Hes not got a third priority,unless it may be moving onto driving the lorries...
Its nice for him! Other changes,like restaraunts, pubs, hairdressers, due 'soon' aren't due till day after my birthday
Johnny Unfortunately the tattoo is high on his list. He's been on about it for ages so I can at least thank the lockdown for that delay!
I feel for him. It must be horrible to be away from his girlfriend and good on him for not seeing her until now. That takes some doing at that age. Was he going to have a party?
Dennab Its been tough for them both, They've both at times gotten upset understandably, His GF mum has a heart condition so they will still have to be careful. There age group gets alot of criticism but from what I know within my sons circle groups is that they are all following rules & taking it seriously. We were planning a family & friend party at ours, A BBQ had weather been permitting. We still will at a later date but instead he'll have to make do with a tea party with me his dad & brother. 
Glitterandgold It's a pity they're treading on eggshells with her mum's condition. Let's just hope testing becomes more widely available soon so they can meet without worrying about that. I'm sure you'll make the tea party memorable though! Thinking back to my 18th, I had to watch the one person I liked kiss someone else. We're married now so it ended well but my point is big birthday parties are sometimes overrated. 
As for age groups, I've seen more people in their 40s or older breaking the rules.
With ONE other person from outside your household so I'm afraid it can't be both Tiger Woods and Nick Faldo.
I just really want to see my parents who live an hour away. I'm not sure if this is permitted or not. We have an acre garden so there are plenty of open spaces. But priority is keeping them safe too.
im doing everything i can within few weeks dont do things carelessly i do take care
I'm going to carry on doing everything I've been doing for the past few weeks. I live with vulnerable people and don't want to put them at risk
The rules are pretty much the same. Stay at home. Stay 2 metres away from people when out. The only thing I may do differently some days is go for more than one walk.
Nope, nothing different. Still only going out to do grocery shopping when needed (every 10 days ish) and other than that will stay in, only go out for exercise to walk or run from my house (being mindful of staying away from others)
TheChimp That's very frustrating, especially as they are more vulnerable. My granddad was similar at the beginning of lockdown where he wanted to go to get a paper every day but has since understood how unsafe and irresponsible that is. Some family members are still being a bit reckless though and it's certainly causing some tensions right now, it's very difficult.
