The Plastic Packaging in Supermarkets

it seems like there’s been some progress, but it is certainly slow - but it seems to have made an impact
interesting - I can't say I have seen much progress as a whole; the bigger stores are definitely making changes, but the local ones seem to be using just as much plastic packaging as before
Yes, that’s true, but I guess that’s down to manpower in stores. My Sainsburys local and Tesco Express use a lot of packaging, and there seems to be a lot of waste on a daily basis. Such a shame to see it so
It is definitely very slow progress, but loving that local independent stores are taking note and making changes. It's just a shame that the big brands aren't acting quite so quickly to make the change!
I agree, especially as the big brands are the ones who can make a huge difference. I’m still waiting for them to change how they display fruit and veg, as it’s so sad seeing how much plastic is being used to package them
I have to admit that I've been buying lettuce with no wrapper from Lidl and they are so untidy and rot really quickly. I've muttered about it for a few days now then realised this is the progress I wanted. We've taken the 'non spoiling film' for granted for too long but we all need to make adjustments and accept it's an improvement.
That’s very true, which is why the supermarkets prefer to wrap everything to ensure it stays looking fresh for as long as possible. But I suppose we need to get used to seeing more rotten looking produce - at least we know it’s real when it starts to deteriorate
