PlayStation 5 Console and Its Games
In the News
Well, that's something peculiar. Not what I expected the console to look like.
You can find the announced trailers on PlayStation's YouTube channel: https://m.youtube.com/user/PlayStation
Not sure why this and the new Xbox have gone vertical.
I hope you can also lay them down, as standing up they won't fit in many peoples TV cabinets or stands.
As for the Games, Gran Turismo looks good.
PlayStation looked like a true retro console at its own time.
PS One was a cutesy micro-ish model of PS, so still good.
PlayStation 2 was kinda fat, but stylish (although the laser disc issue was a pain back then).
PlayStation 2 Slim was super slim, extremely compact, super lightweight and easy to carry anywhere. The only downside was the HDD removal.
PlayStation 3 somewhat looked like a grill and quite fatty, not to mention it was super heavy, but I loved it and still do. The 60GB version was pretty much the best as it offered PS2 BC.
PlayStation 3 Slim had the best "standard" design between a console and a BD/DVD player so it'd go along with everything.
PlayStation 3 Super Slim oh boy.. that almost looked as though it was a bootleg. Yikes.
PlayStation 4 had a neat and stylish design, albeit very noisy.
PlayStation 4 Slim sleek but nearly looks like the "Pro" version with 2 layers than 3.
PlayStation 4 Pro an Oreo with only black chocolate, basically. Didn't really like the design.
PlayStation 5 ... It's a router! Or an old Sky box.
Indeed it is and the older ones (e.g. SMS, NES, SNES, MD, N64, PS1, PS2) aren't exactly worth buying to play. Back then games ran at a slower framerate due to being in PAL while games in U.S. and Canada ran at full speed.
PhilipMarc I can't say I've ever cared enough about gaming to notice the difference in frame rate but I'm the same with TV and anything visual.
More and more like a pc. Should have made it modular, cheaper to repair and easier to upgrade. Will be getting one. A hard drive that is so fast it can be used like extra ram. Hope developers take advantage, no more loading screens in game.
It would be nice to see iRacing on PS5 and XSX though it is a somewhat expensive game, but on the bright side it keeps "crashers" away from it as they're not serious about it.
I used to play GRID online back on the Xbox 360 days and absolutely loved it, but there were times players would purposefully crash into other players just for the sake of it, and they'd play their stupid music right into the microphone.
For some reason the Playstation design looks evil to me, reminds me of some evil robot. Also not sure if peoples cabinets are designed for a standing up console.
Just use a Component Cable and a Wireless controller and you're good to go. PS2 has an enormous library of games, anyway.
