Hi all just wondering for a change of meal was thinking of doing tuna pasta bake. I've never had it be for and I've never made it be for. I love tuna and pasta. But never had it together. Is there a way to do it. And what else do you put in with the tuna and pasta. Thank you so much for all your help .
Just buy a jar of Homepride pasta bake Nicola. It gives instructions on the jar, you put the tin of tuna, jar of sauce and the pasta in a baking dish and cook, I think it is delicious but of course everyone has their own taste.
Having tried this and if you like it you can develop your own recipe with pasta, tuna, passata, and any other things you think might add to the taste.
Hi lynibis thank you for your help. I going to make tuna pasta bake this week. Let you know how I got on.
My wife always makes a tomato tuna pasta dish and its lovely. It doesnt sound very nice but she we had it in Cyprus once and its really tasty.
Hi cathsho13 thank you for your help. The tomato tuna pasta sounds yummy. It's a jar of tomato sauce.
nicolajaynehend she uses a tin of chopped tomatoes (usually with herbs because thats what we buy), onion, garlic and tomato puree to make the sauce and then adds the tuna. Sometimes she adds spinach, mushrooms etc because were on sw
I used to make this, it's delicious. You cook the pasta, make a cheese sauce (i just melt a spoonful of butter on the hob, add a spoon of flour, mix, then add milk and grated cheese and stir until it thickens) then I add frozen peas and sweetcorn into an oven proof dish with the cooked pasta, sauce and tuna, mix it together, add grated cheese on top and bake for about 30minutes x
nicolajaynehend it is really nice. It's nice to have as lunch the following day too
I've made it with tuna, passata, few herbs and cheese. I had it in the hospital the other year and enjoyed it so thought I would give it a try making my own.
For the cheesy topping, get a couple of packs of ready salted crisps, crunch them all up into small pieces, scatter over the top of the bake and then grate some cheese over the top....pop under the grill for a few mins til the cheese has melted, then you wll be in tuna pasta bake heaven!
Feel free to experiment with other flavours of crisps too!
Hi metrovski. Thank you for your help. The crisp and cheese sounds yummy. Going to try it.
If you buy a sauce just check the nutritional info first hun. Jar sauces tend to be high in salt, sugar and fat. Here is a link to a tuna pasta bake recipe that looks really yummy.
