Did You Have Pocket Money as a Child/ Do Your Children Get Pocket Money?

I am interested to see how many parents who give their children pocket money, had pocket money as a child vs those who didn't have pocket money, or don't give their child pocket money. And what's your reasoning?
Yes I had pocket money as a child but I was never one to save it. As soon as I got it , I would go spend it all on sweets.
I give my daughter pocket money but unlike me, she likes to saves hers up.
We only really got pocket money from my nanny and grandad it was £2 each a week i think and 2 choc bars. If we hadn't seen them for a while they would pile it up.
no i never received any pocket money, just the odd pound here and then from my gran or aunts etc, but i had a happy childhood none the less!
I had pocket money as a child, for doing chores around the house... my step son chooses not to do any housework, so doesn’t get any pocket money - he is well aware that if he did help out, he would get pocket money..
yes had pocket money,and my daughter also will be getting when gets a bit older she is 3 at the moment so too young,but when we went to disney orlando she had her money to spend on toys she wanted
No I didn’t get pocket money, but still a great childhood! I was taught the importance of money which is better than what I would have spent pocket money on!
I didn't get any. Don't have kids, but if/when I do, they will get it if they earn it, by doing jobs. And it'll teach them the importance of money too, I hope.
