Police seize hundreds of monkeys being shipped abroad to be eaten
This turned my stomach when i read about it
Is there nothing the chinese will not eat ???
This is as close to cannibalism as it gets with our DNA relationship to primates
You would think the chinese would have learned their lesson from wuhan , eating monkies has been proved to be highly dangerous for diseases regardless of the disgust it brings

I really despair N when i read things like this
The people buying them aren't backward poor people , they are rich supposedly intelligent people , why on earth would they want to do this ??

They are disgusting C , you could understand if it was millions of years ago when people hunted and killed to eat to survive, but modern man doesnt need to do this, so all i can think is its some perverse sort of pleasure they get form eating them , i just dont know ?
Makes me think of that monkey brain eating scene in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. Always found that scene really disgusting and unwatchable. The Chinese seem to have a culture of liking to eat the strangest widest range of animals as if its impressive to eat a rare animal. I seem to remember there was 'bat soup' where pretty much the whole bat was just lying in the soup plus of course they eat all sorts of insects often sweetened and on a stick. As someone pointed out the Chinese will never starve as they seem to be able to eat just about anything.
If you eat any meat. Then I suppose you can’t really say anything about what anyone else’s food habits are. Like we eat cows. In India they are a religious thing. I love dogs but I wouldn’t eat at dog. However people do. My friend has a horse. People eat horses.
Some people don’t eat pig and must look down on people who do.
It’s about how they are treated and how they are killed before they become food.
That’s just my opinion
Thats true R, but monkeys are so close to being human as i said previously , its just one step away from cannibalism
TerenceMealing I know what you’re saying don’t get me wrong. I think all primates should be left alone. Only the tribal community should be able to have them in the rainforests etc.
But no one seems to condemn the cannibalism of chimpanzees (probably our closest relatives genetically) they, if given half a chance, will eat the young of other chimps, not only is that abhorant to most of us but makes it very difficult for chimps in the wild to find a baby sitter.
