It is possible, but would take A LOT of hard work.

Well, it depends what route you choose. Retraining takes hard work. Or there's the other way, get a brain transplant. (Obviously I'm being sarcy af)

from what I have read this is being done all the time. you create new synapses when you create new behaviour and this becomes normal after you do it a while. ie distract ylourself with something pleasant when you are anxious and eventually you only have the pleasant experience

Yes it’s possible, but you need to make that conscious effort to make the change. There are cases where agoraphobics have been able to overcome their issues, so change is possible

surely hard work is worth it to deal with illnesses such as acrophobia or ocd. these are life changing illnesses
