If You Post Competitions Do You like a Quick Thank You?

Ask a Question

Firstly, I would like to thank all of you who post competitions. I often enter but not won yet, although I remain hopeful.

Secondly, do you like us who enter to press the thank you button? I assume the thanks clog up your notifications.

Please let me and others know, thank you.

I always hit the thanks button on any competitions I enter.

Takes but a moment and shows a little appreciation.

That is new to me after all these years, I didn't know there was a like button, where is it please? I would probably use it a lot for the comps I think are really good.

Lynibis the button is called “thanks”. It’s on the left under the main picture of the competition.

Pjran oh thanks, I have seen that, I thought it was a heart as in liking deals!

I post quite a few competitions. It's good when people take a moment to say thanks. It's appreciated but not expected.

I don't like it, as you rightly say it clogs notifications and I am always a bit disappointed that it isn't a chat or something I can reply to.

I assume people are thankful anyway, just as I am for all the great comps posted by members. I often comment if it is a particularly good comp or feel it needs a comment and will always then add a thanks.

I hardly ever share any comps nowadays, but whenever I do I am not really bothered. If anything, it gets a bit tiresome going through all the notifications.

Personally I press it since I feel that thanking someone for something they posted that was useful to me is a good thing to do, and only takes a second. I also post and thank people on posts I’ve bought from in the deals section too. I know some people dislike when people do that, though. I don’t mind either way whether people thank me on mine though. I don’t mind getting the notifications.

Hey it may be possible for us to create a profile setting so you can turn off notifications when someone presses 'thanks' on your competition post. Will look into it!

I don't mind either way really. If someone comments and says thanks then it is nice and I normally like their comment but it doesn't bother me if people don't thank me.

As a grateful competition entrant it makes me feel disheartened (and a bit annoyed 😊) that so many people enter competitions that have been kindly shared by members without the curtesy of a thank you. It takes seconds. Have we all become so entitled?
